And won’t set their thermostats to those ridiculous temperatures.

This may work somewhere without humidity and that it gets cool at night, which is not the southeast.

OTOH, if you have to set your thermostat to below 70 you must hate money and are an embarrassment to the pre baby boomer generations who weren’t soft pudgy indoor creatures. Your money though, so do as you please

mine stays at 80.
anything lower and it’s too damn cold

during the day most of the time I just turn it off and open up the windows and doors

I couldn't sleep with it on 80. My wife would go to a hotel.

The official federal government recommendation for keeping your house cool in the summer is to keep your air conditioning set at 78 degrees. When you're at work or away, the program recommends setting it at 85 degrees. When you're sleeping, the government suggests you set the thermostat at 82 degrees.

When you become a father do you develop a sixth sense in regard to someone touching the thermostat?

good point.. may as well just keep your windows open all summer ...

can you imagine walking into your house after work and suffocating air hits you in the face?

frick that.

I turn mine off. It's never that bad when I get home. But also have a huge oak keeping the front side of the house out of the sun all day.

Then just turn off the ac altogether and open the damn windows. If my thermostat goes above 75 my ac must be broken.

I love in Europe so I don't have AC. But if I did it would never be on 82. Especially when I'm sleeping. You want me to pass out ? Da frick.

LMAO. I literally would not sleep a wink at that temperature. I would be an uncomfortable, sweaty, surly, demented insomniac.

This stupid shite might make more sense in a different part of the world, but here in Louisiana where it’s firmly on the surface of the sun they can frick off.
