Sometime after Joe and Jill visited Plains, Georgia, Joe announced that President Carter told President Biden that PC wanted PB to present the eulogy at PC's funeral.

Biden makes Carter look like Abe Lincoln

Hospice isn’t a immediate death level of care all the time. Most commonly it is but not always.
My mother was in hospice for over a year.

People stay on hospice for a long time these days. In some cases you see live discharges.

You don't know shite about hospice. All it means is that they will keep you comfortable and only do palliative care. It doesn't mean you will die in weeks or even months.

But in terms of actual effects on day to day life, Carter’s tenure was worse. The inflation back then was way worse. And few who are alive today got to experience long lines just to get some gas. I could go on and on.
This part was really bad. But we certainly had a lot more freedom, a lot less big brother, and a lot less regulation.

My dad was in hospice right at three months. They did give him pretty good drugs. It was more of a “riding it down” than standing on the feeding tube or withholding treatment. I would definitely recommend it in the appropriate situations. Im sure President Carter is getting the best of care and could linger quite a while.
Oh…yeah…good man, terrible president.

You don't have to be at death's door to get hospice care.

I was a kid when he was president, but even I understood what an abysmal job he was doing.
I was a full grown adult during his term and he did a good job, just did not cater to the Washington Cliff Dwellers (the real folks that run the country and never actually stand for an election) and they used the media to discredit him.
He passed the most important mental health legislation in my lifetime (killed by Regan). We are now finally discussing it again all these years later and far too many shootings.
He led the world in alternative energy research, development, and deployment (killed by Regan). Imagine where we would be now and all the lost decades in between.
He got real peace in the Middle East and now the peace between Israel and Egypt has lasted longer than the time they were at war.
He was a real Christian (and neither side since has been such, tho they act like they are)
He and Nixon had the almost impossible task of being POTUS during the oil shocks of the 70's.
He got through Annapolis with zero demerits, only the 3rd person in history to do so at a Service Academy. Robert E Lee was the 1st and some dude about 10 years after Lee.
As the former military guy, he was the major force behind the "Skunk Works" that Regan took credit for.
Did not try to make coin after being POTUS, devoted the rest of his life to the service of others with things like "Habitat for Humanity".
We would be well served by another like him but we have become too narcissistic as a country to elect another like him.

Look, I wont disagree with you, however my man gets a pass because
1) hes close to his reward
2) he was critical in preventing a nuclear power catastrophe
3) hes overachieved as a human with habitat for humanity
Seems like his presidential experience was his low point in life
Eta: as others have mentioned, he was a true Christian...Im sure hed rather be remembered for that them for being a politician.

This is like when a team goes to kick a field goal and the announcer says "He has made his last 32 attempts"

Well you said he did a good job. I am at a loss for words on that one.

I wasn't old enough to remember him. I turned 3 years old on the last day of his term, but from what I have read and heard others say about him, he was probably the last president who wanted to be president for the right reasons. He truly wanted to do good. Evidently he hated being president which you can argue is a sign that he was a good president.
Its like in the movie the Gladiator. Caesar wanted Maximus to be the next leader of Rome because he would have ruled with his best interest being Rome.
Commodus was a politician and when he overhead Caesar telling Maximus he wanted him to be Rome's next leader, he was willing to do anything to gain power so he kills Caesar, has Maximus's wife and son killed and land burned and sold Maximus as a slave.
That's politics in a nutshell. Those who want the power want it for self interest. Anyone who actually wants to do good is a threat to other people's best interest

Yeah dude has had brain cancer for years according to the media.
