That was in February. Dude is still alive.

I thought hospice is where they light you up with the good narcotics and stand on your feeding tube

Jimmy Carter’s good vibes will keep him going a long time. Amazing person. Shitty president.

Hospice of today is not the hospice of the past. It can be more for 24 hour support than checking for a pulse every hour.

Sometimes they put someone on hospice who can realistically survive 6 months or more. Easier to get meds.

I was a kid when he was president, but even I understood what an abysmal job he was doing. So few people today experienced it. People today would lose their minds if they had to experience it.

Hospice doesnt necessarily mean helping you die

It just means no more life extending treatments

Jimmy Carter tried to rein in the CIA’s bullshite secret ops and the meddling in foreign policy and he obviously didn’t come out on top. From that aspect, he was the good guy as far as I’m concerned.

People stay on hospice for a long time these days. In some cases you see live discharges.

Jimmy has probably built new rooms for the indigent at his hospice facility, then forced them to use the metric system and tripled utility costs.

Having lived through both, I would trade this shite for that shite easily. A few gas lines, and a temporary 55 mph speed limit, coupled with what we thought at the time was rampant inflation, pales in comparison to what's going on now.
We were much more free, and far less spied upon.

I don't know about that. My Dad tells me he drove cross country to visit home and wasn't going to be allowed gas due to rationing even though he was nearly empty. He told the station he was military and they let him get some. That seems way worse.

Yes my dad was in hospice for about 6 months - it’s a little different than what we would think about
