His lawyer's statement indicates that at least 14 people had the password. Doesn't seem like a hack to me.
We'll just let this story unfold.

Meanwhile 15 people were shot this weekend including a high school student murdered.

Isn't NOPD busy enough trying to keep bullets off the concrete jungle.

That statement sounds exactly how I would expect it to sound coming from a butthurt queen looking for a payout.

I think if it was a Smollet situation... the press release would have been worded differently.
The only crime, then, I can come up with, is illegally accessing the Twitter account.

Hate crime? Pretty obvious
This is how brainwash works.
It’s sad that an adult human being could possibly think this way.

What exactly are they looking for?
Whomever made the tweet be reprimanded by WWL, lose their job, or be identified for public shame?
Dunlap wants a monetary settlement, nothing else.

two things:
1) per the last line of the lawyer's statement, seth dunlap will be filing suit against entercom for discrimination. i guess it goes without saying that his days at WWL-AM are over.
2) per the first line of the 2nd paragraph of WWL's statement "we determined that the most appropriate next step is to involve law enforcement"; ie: they know who sent the tweet. "law enforcement" here is almost certainly not the NOPD
ETA i was wrong about law enforcement, it is NOPD.

According to WWL-TV (which is not affiliated with WWL Radio), Gary Scheets, a spokesman for the New Orleans Police Department, confirmed that the radio station turned over materials "that prompted the Eighth District to open an investigation into that information."

What if a firmer employee accessed the system? That would be a crime. Look for former employees with an iphone.

@RVargasAdvocate
My educated guess is that, if they think someone without authorization to do so went into their Twitter account to send the tweet at the center of this, they would want to know whether that constituted some sort of cyber crime.

Keep in mind a law enforcement agency can get a judicial warrant to search, say, a cell phone, or get records from a provider, which is something a corporation cannot do.

He's worked at WWL for 8 years?
Or, he transferred from another Entercom station?

It's a play for a settlement. Which he will get, undisclosed amount. Unfortunately
