Except the absurd idea that Japan could even bomb the west coast, ever, during and around wwii. They never had the oilier capability to pull off that raid. Going to Hawaii was for them was about their limit.

Similarly, there’s a fake airport and town outside Richmond (now closed off to the public) near the real airport. Richmond’s airport was used heavily by the military at the time. The idea apparently was that if an enemy attack was launched, they could turn off the lights at the real airport, turn on the lights at the fake one, and the bombs would fall on the wrong one.
