Good truck for off-road or small Special Forces teams working in remote locations.

Met a couple of Special Forces guys in Afghanistan that drove from the northeast province near Tajikistan down to Khandahar in a Tacoma. They were planning on driving over to Pakistan to get it painted tan.

Hawks can sling load up to 9000 pounds in ideal conditions. Generally 4500 pounds is doable in almost any conditions.

There is a need for light recon vehicles like these. The upfront cost for each unit will also likely include a maintenance bench stock. Meaning almost every large critical part will be in the maintenance inventory.

After re-reading this, are you sure about your math here? The quoted piece says $214MM for the initial order of 649 vehicles. That would be over $300k a piece. I hope I’m misunderstanding it.

That's the way that I read it too.

I was trying to decide whether I wanted to pull the contract or not as I scrolled.

I'm thinking i don't really gaf.

You know how you hit IED’s? Drive a multi ton armored vehicle that has to stick to designated roads so the enemy knows where you are going to be driving.

Or... you could drive this thing cross country.

The Jeep Gladiator was also considered for this contract but was too heavy to be lifted by a Blackhawk.
no way a Jeep is heavier than a Humvee.

What this tells me is that there is some force field/deflector shield technology in the finishing stages and these will be able to utilize it

I have a 2020 ZR2 with the Duramax and I can honestly say it is the BEST vehicle I’ve ever owned.

And this is coming from a guy who currently owns these vehicles:
Lexus IS
Ford F-550
Ram 3500
Chevrolet 3500 x 3
Ram 1500
Chevrolet 2500HD
Chevrolet 1500
And a 79 Bronco

It's a Chevy Colorado. $100,000 to buy, $200,000 to maintain it.

No doors. No armor. This seems like we’ve learned nothing from IEDs. Looks like a big death trap.

You make me ride in that I want the middle seat.
