I would drive it but it’s not anyone of my lower end dream cars. I would not pay $29K for it. But if it’s your dream car and the color you want, that’s not a horrible price but it’s on the high end IMO. If you really really want it and it’s the car you always wanted, and you are in the market, get it.

Sure if in good condition. I'd rather have a straight shift.
The power is laughable compared to moderns versions.

My IROC Z story. TLDR warning.
One of my best friends in high school had one ordered a couple of days after they were announced. His dad, wealthy and left his mom for a younger model, felt bad and promised it to him for his 17th birthday. One day I am home and get a call "hey, can you drive me up to the Chevy dealer?". I know what is up and jump in my car and go get him. We pull up to the dealer in Covington on 190 and there it is, black with gold letters/T-Tops/optioned out. They have placed it up on the porch right in front of the main doors. We jump out and are drooling over the car, pressing our faces against the windows since it is locked. Some salesman comes running out and yells "get away from that car kids, its sold!" and my buddy smoothly whips out a company check from his father and says "Yeah, to me."
I thought that was about the coolest thing I had ever heard.
Two years later, on my first night at LSU, my buddy gets in a drag race with a Mustang at Lee and Highland. We fly by a BRPD unit and he starts chasing us and the Mustang. My a-hole buddy stomps the gas and I am thinking I am going to jail on my very first night at college. I finally yell at him enough that he pulls over by Nicholson and the Mustang makes a left and heads towards Gardere. The BRPD passed us up and went after the Mustang. We hauled arse back to campus and I never rode in that car again. I don't think I have talked to him since that night either.

I saw a guy driving a mint condition Trans Am from the same era recently. It looked like he had just driven off the show room floor. I was always partial to the IROC but I have to admit that it was pretty badass.

Unfortunately this was during the "emissions choking" era of American cars, so the engines were all choked of air and fuel to meet emissions standards.
This can be corrected with modifications

Down the Panama City Strip dressed like Magnum PI
This is how you reveal yourself as a Bama Fan. Who else but someone from the Gulf South can remember Magnum PI but instead of picturing themselves as him driving around in Hawaii where Magnum lived at his rich benefactor/absentee landlord's sprawling estate trying to bang a bunch of OT 10 Luau Linda's on the back of his Lanai...
You imagine driving it down the Strip in PCB...

One of the hottest girls at my HS drove a red IROC, probably an 83 or 84.

A friend of mine drove a teal one like that. When he got married his wife made him sell it

86 Z28 was my very first car
Thing was a fricking deathtrap. Any gas in a turn and the thing would fishtail like it was on ice.
No, I would not drive one again.

That was my second car at age 16. Grey with black accents and t-tops. It was already a sweet ride in 1991, but my first car was a 4 cylinder mazda 4-door sedan so moving to the z28 was an especially big step up.
Last year I got a S-class, tuned it and put some pipes on it with remote controlled valves for more or less sound. It’s at 650 hp and a total blast to drive, but the excitement factor doesn’t touch that Camaro at that time at that age. It’s sad to know that there is nothing I could own or do that be as awesome or exciting as that car was at 16. My life peaked early.
