Man you come up with some bad ideas to “fix” problems.
I had to go to CVS the other day. I needed a coin-cell battery (the “CR-xxxx” type) and figured I’d grab one while I was there, since they have a decent little battery display with a good selection. The coin-cell batteries all had anti-theft locks on the little hooks that the blister packs hang from.
There was hardly anybody working in the retail part of the store, as this CVS (maybe all of them?) has basically gone to 100% self-checkout. It was a PITA to find someone to come unlock the display so I could buy a $2 battery.
The solution is easy - now that I know they’re a pain in the arse, I’ll just never buy batteries at CVS again. I don’t need CVS to start implementing even more ridiculous security measures to fix this inconvenience.

I would rather the stores in areas of crime just shut down. Maybe trashy people would learn if there was no resources

So we can’t use ID to vote but we have to use ID to eat or even buy a pack of gum. Makes sense to me!

Think of what each of the security containers costs! Way more than the can of spam if I had to guess.

I'm betting a can of Spam costs more there than it does at my local grocery where it doesn't need to be under lock and key.

What am I looking at here? Where does the TV come from

Or just walk out of a Costco with 24 bottles of Hennessy.

The easy way to fix this is to put c4 in those security devices and have a few shoplifters go Mohammed themselves in the parking lot. Would definitely make an impact in the shoplifter communities.

Yeah those aren’t in security boxes because people are trying to buy them under 21 years of age

I’m guessing it is there the whole time but you just can’t “see it” bc of how he is positioning himself in front of the camera (that is why he is walking backwards and directly facing the camera); however, our friend here either forgot to account for the camera outside or noticed the guy running to stop him.

Swiping a divers license isn't much different than the concept of those Amazon Go grocery stores where there are no cashiers and your purchases are automatically charged to your card. LINK
Honestly, if I were the owner of a retail store I would be looking at all kinds of ways to ramp up security.
