Would you rather be a grocery store cashier or peddle MLM products?

Seeing some women on Facebook made me think about this.

Single and no family for this excercise

Cashier at local grocery store (not super busy Walmart type) for 35k/year

Or

MLM sales with the caveat that you have to peddle it on Facebook. 70k/year.

Either way you're not rich, but 70k goes pretty far when you don't have any responsibility. I honestly would take the cashier. I can't imagine embarrassing myself on social media like that or trying to sell shite to friends and family. I'd pick up extra shift as a cashier before I did that.

social media isnt real, what goes on there doesnt matter. The people on my friends list i hang with irl dont care if i post dumb shite. everyone else on it i dont give a frick about.

I'm particularly annoyed by people who have incorporated Christianity into their MLM pitches.

That's like $16/hour. Chick fil a and target starting pay is like 12 bucks an hour. Pick up some extra and you're there.

All that is irrelevant though because this is a hypothetical, when some of you obviously don't understand what that is.

I refuse to ever do MLM. It always gave me the creeps how culty they are and now social media had made it worse.

Unfortunately, a young loved one just signed up for this stuff. I tried to talk her out of it.

Her company required her to host 3 parties before they let her pay $100 to sign up. She insists that people love the products and everyone wants to buy them and that she will make money.

But if so, why was I asked to "do her a favor" and buy stuff from the first party and then last night was asked to buy a $40 kit (which she will pay me back for) for party#3. I asked why she couldn't just buy it and she said she needed a customer to buy it to get the points... to qualify to become a seller..... sigh

Mostly it just makes me feel sad for her. I hate MLMs and the fraud and how they prey on those who are desperate for money or gullible.

Cashier

I’ve tried MLM once and I still feel guilty about bothering my friends and family with it.
