At least if I was a grocery store clerk I would still have friends.

Bingo. I respect a burger flipper or barista way more than some sales scumbag hitting up friends and family.

Is it embarrassing if you’re pulling $70k? I’m not a pussy though, $70k is a lot of dough at the end of the day just for FB posts.

Cashier. I cringe at the fact ever having to sell terrible bullshite to my friends and family on the internet.

And if you were a grocery clerk, at you would be selling stuff that people actually want, .

Cashier at local grocery store (not super busy Walmart type) for 35k/year

No way cashiers make nearly this much unless you are in a super high COL city like SF or NY.

MLM = 100x more likely to spend $100 and get zero than make 70k.

I would guess the median MLM earnings per year are less than 1k.

Honestly, the handful of people I know who got involved in peddling MLM products got involved when they were at... probably the lowest point in their life. And I am not exaggerating.

The only person I know, who got involved in a MLM was one of my aunt and uncles. They got into Amway. Every product in their house was Amway. To this day their sons (twins who are the same age as I am) are like brothers to me so I was over there a lot and vice versa. Anyway, I just remember my dad telling me "don't ever forget this. There is no such thing as get rich quick".

While I don't think they ever tried to push it on my parents (my dad was a no bullshite type person and anyone who knew him wouldn't have ever approached him with that shite), but they use to buy new shite as if they were trying to show they were doing well (when in fact, both of them had good jobs and what they made from Amway wasn't paying for those new things). As if they were trying to catch people's attention and make people think "wow, they are selling Amway and look at what they have".

So when I think of someone trying to push MLM products, I think they are either at a low point in their life and at that very moment they are throwing a hail mary trying to sell that crap or that they are looking for an easy way to make more money... But either way, they have been sold a bunch of bullshite in order to make more money for people above them.

MLM sales with the caveat that you have to peddle it on Facebook. 70k/year.

Flawed question. Nobody doing MLM is making 70k/year.

Real choices are $35k cashier or in debt MLM zealot.

So you’d rather make $35k than $70k?

I can't wrap my head around it.

Chick I went to HS with used to be a pretty cool girl. I just clicked on her Instagram to count. You can see 15 IG photos at a time on the iPhone screen.

13 of them are for the product she sells. 1 is of her infant. 1 is a meme about being a mommy.

Luckily the product my young friend is selling isn't makeup. I will be spared the daily selfies of her spackled in makeup like the "Younique" or "limelight" groupies do. Or the "live" tutorials on new products and such.

Friend's MLM is marketing bars of soap, lotion and facemasks that have cutesy names and silly descriptions. $39 for a set with 4 oz of lotion and 2 bathbombs.

MLM was bad in 2005 when they pitched me in college.

Now with FB live it’s unbearable and embarrassing.

Family tried to hock us some $100 shampoo. I said “Nah. That’s a hard pass.”
