What are the criteria?

If you're talking about someplace you wouldn't want to own a house, start a family, or look for a job, I'd go with Bogalusa or Shreveport.

But if you mean a place with few redeeming qualities, I'd have to say Mandeville: awful traffic, nothing to do, no one you'd ever want to talk to, 50 miles from anywhere. This is a town that fails, and profoundly, to capture any of the good things of either the city or the country.

I have to go with Donaldsonville. I worked there for eighteen years and I sure didn't like it. I was amazed when I learned that they had different swimming pools for the races. The high school even had two different proms. You had a school prom put on by the school that the black students usually attended and you had a white prom that was provided by the white parents. I wonder if that city has ever changed.

Ferriday is a shithole in a sea of shitholes in that part of the state.

Jonesville, Vidalia, and Jena say “At least we aren’t Ferriday.”

Gets my vote.

Even compared to when I was growing up (it was already a shithole), it's become even more a shithole. It's unbelievable. The entire town looks worse than North BR.

Coushatta isn’t really bad from what I’ve seen, been around there multiple times on drilling rigs.

Coushatta is a nice little country town and has some damn good people. It’s like you travel back in time about 30 years. Beautiful ride coming up 71 to there

Coushatta has Bailey Burger and Nichols Sporting Goods. It isn’t even in the top 10 worst.

Assumption Parish. The entirety. Frickin dead and depressing as hell.
Pierre Part, as trashy as it is, is it's only saving grace, and that's only because of the Pierre Part store (the original Wal-Mart)

As bad as most of these places listed are, none of them have Sharon Weston-Broome or Latoya Cantrell running them.

This isn’t the 80s. Louisiana could 100% make it without New Orleans.
