I’m fully aligned with the 45-minute reassurance sprint model. Constant feedback loops are the cornerstone of my personal OKRs, and frankly, my emotional ROI tanks without them. If we’re not syncing every hour, are we even a high-performing unit? Let’s double-down on this overcommunication strategy and scale our vibes responsibly. #AlwaysOn #FeedbackCulture #PingMePls #ScalableSynergy #HumanCapitalAlignment

goals/tasks tend to be extremely broad in nature
bingo.
The vast majority of corporate management struggles with true prioritization and decision-making. Instead, they create vague, meaningless goals that can’t be time-boxed, allowing them to avoid accountability or being boxed in.
I can barely stop myself from firing back with the most obvious questions, like: “So… what does done actually mean in your world?” “How exactly are we avoiding scope creep when the deliverable is written in fortune-cookie vagueness?” “Is this magical thing you want even remotely feasible by end of quarter, or are we just playing make-believe again?” And my personal favorite: “Did anyone bother to check interdependencies, or are we just crossing our fingers and hoping the universe aligns?”
Generally, the replies just set up more follow-up meetings, kicking the can down the road, while piling an endless backlog onto the actual doers, all without establishing any real priorities. But that's sort of the goal isn't it? Sound smart and avoid actual accountability while waiting to move up the corporate ladder.
In the corporate world, there are A LOT of managers, there are very very few actual leaders.

Bro, we're all 40 now. We don't want a call every 45 minutes. Just teams me and I'll get back to you when I wrap up the back 9. Converting to PDF isn't that hard, you'll get it.

The older millennials are thinking about retirement. You are probably dealing with Y or Z
Um, Gen Y was the original label for Millennials.

Isn't generation Y the original name for Millenials?
Anyway, OP reeks of the gen X look at me middle child syndrome. He will have a Millenial boss if he doesn't already.

Since every one of their peers is generally unaccountable and/or unreliable, the stream of reassurance texts and calls during the day is insane. Bro, we don't need a call every 45 minutes.
You’re whining about Gen Z. Actual millennials are texting one another “this should have been an email” behind your back during conference calls.

how old are you? you realize the oldest millennials graduated 25 years ago and are 43/44 right now....right? im a second year millennial and am 42. you are prolly a millennial dumbass.
I’m 42 and I self identify as Gen X. Other than understanding technology, there is hardly anything tying me to Millennial over GX.
That being said, around 2019-2021, we had a couple of girls at our office that were about 10-12 years younger than me. Completely different work ethic and way of conducting ourselves. Took days off regularly, always asked me to ask the boss basic questions, wanted to talk about their feelings about work things all the time, would schedule meetings for the most mundane things that could be emails. We all were WFH before Covid but they would be out running errands all the time on work calls and not even try to hide it.
I guess you could say that we are the same generation but there is an ocean between a millennial born 1980-1984 and somebody born in the 90s.

You wanna start a consulting business with me? We can go into companies after McKinnsey fricks them all up and just take the opposite approach.

22 year old girls being unfocused is truly shocking

My son is a very early Z. When he asked me for advice when he entered the work world, I said something like, " dress decent and show up on time, and you've got 90% of em beat"
My son is about the same age. I told him he's going to dominate these soft slackers. All the people bitching about them should be happy if their kids are in that group and are strong.

I still do this to people older than me, but that is a cultural thing strictly is the Deep South

Born in 87. I’m thinking about retirement, but I still have at least 25 more years so I guess I’m more dreaming of retirement. Do you mean Gen X?

None of us are doing whatever the hell you are talking about. We were raised by Boomers - just up, take it, and carry on. We were not coddled, and do not expect to be coddled.
