No idea and honest question, but how long does an estate sale take? I agree it seems like you could have a fire sale of an estate sale and then list the house immediately afterwards. Or I guess the buyer can have an estate sale.

Hell, some OT baller should make a deal with the listing realtor to buy the house, estate sale his crap, and then re list and sell the house.

I think the casket is gone. If not then he wasted his money on it.

No house in Metairie is worth $349K.

Tell that to Old Metairie and Bucktown. You'd be hard pressed to find even a modest house for that price in Old Metairie. That's about the cost for a so-so house in Bucktown. The bigger ones and lots nearer the lake are going for significantly more.

That said, Big Lee's house isn't worth tree fiddy based solely on location. He 's a few houses off the interstate, on a major street, at a major intersection. Also questionable as to whether that's "Old Metairie". Maybe before the interstate was put in. But I-10 is kind of the demarcation point now for where OM ends.

ETA: Also the site of a very public murder scene.

On a positive note. Almost guaranteed to have a better neighbor than the previous one.

His tow company is for sale also. They are asking way too much. He has one tow truck with over $8K worth of lights on the cab. Who needs strobe lights on a tow truck?

The lot is kind of big is the major factor. I agree though, I would hate that location

The guy that owned the house was called Big Lee and was a huge LSU fan. Gaudy LSU shite everywhere in the yard and all over the house. He owned a towing company and may have been a bit... "touched". In any case, he was well known, though not well liked. He and the old guy who lived next door apparently had a long history of friction. A couple of months ago, Big Lee fricked with his neighbor and sprayed him and the interior of his truck with water. This was his neighbor:

Except instead of pulling a finger gun, the old guy pulled a real gun.

Big Lee is not pining for the fjords. He is no more. He has ceased to be. He's expired and gone to meet his maker. He's a stiff. Bereft of live, he rests in peace. His metabolic processes are now history. He's off the twig. He's kicked the bucket, he's shuffled off his mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the bleedin' choir invisible!!

The realtor said there has been a minimal amount of murders there.

What in the world makes you think Bucktown is one of the nicer parts of Metairie? Either you don't know where Bucktown is, or you've never been to the other parts of Metairie

People in Bucktown are currently getting big $ for their houses. Are there nicer places in Metry than Bucktown outside of Old Metairie? Probably but currently they are getting a lot of $ for their houses moreso than anywhere outside of OM.

Not going by subjectivity, but by home prices. And yes, it is currently a real estate "hot spot" per objective fact.
There are plenty of nice areas in Metairie. Not all of them have easy access to to the I10 in multiple spots, Mid City, Lakeview, and Uptown. If you work in the city and live in Old Metairie or Bucktown, you have at least 15 minutes less drive time than most Metairie folks. "Nice" isn't everything. Location matters.

Big $ as in under $650k? That's not big money, comparatively speaking

I guess we are splitting hairs now, but outside of Old Metairie, the loosely defined Bucktown area is very hot right now. Everything that get's built now is work $500K plus. One reletively new house sold for over $800K on Seminole not long ago.
