To my knowledge, not even close. Unless it was massively added on.

I feel this bubble will burst soon. Access to certain areas have made home prices crazy.
Parts of Gentilly are Lakeview East. Why not market Bucktown as Lakeview West?

Bucktown is now the new "old metairie". Very pricey

The part of Metairie North of West Esplanade and West of Causeway is consistently a much nicer area than Bucktown

There is one in my parent's hood that is evidently the biggest house for sale in Metairie right now. It has been vacant since Katrina, and was just finished earlier this year. They want $2.4MM for it, and they most definitely will not get that. Ten years from now, it'll be worth the same (or less) than houses on the same street with 4000 less square feet

Cleveland?

This house? Lot shape is gonna hurt that property. Although I'd hardly call that house a McMansion. Everything in it is custom and finished well. I'd never spend $2.4 mil on that specific house in that location, but it's still a nice house.
welp, I see we had the same idea

Found out last week that this jackass shady developer is gonna put 16 or 17 houses on the 2.5ac property where The Beach Club was. He is intending to have the lots shaped like a slice of pizza, with the front of them only as wide as a driveway. Listing for $300-400k

I was just about to post this. Any developer with middle-middle-upper class is basically throwing up $325k houses at the minimum. That drives the market for older homes up substantially just due to supply and demand.

You can buy a brand new home for $350-400k that's 2100-2600 sq ft and likely has a shite lot in a shite developed suburb (though some new ones are great). Or you can buy an older house in a better location (Op's is questonably better).

But my point is simply that, new houses are not being built for under $300k unless you are talking some smaller sub 50k people towns.

at the location he is talking about, the lots are probably 300-400, not a home on the lot

Ah ok, well different price range. But I was simply saying that there really are not new homes being built for under $300k. So any house 2000sq ft or bigger in a decent neighborhood that's older has that as a floor price as long as its not in rough shape.

Once you pass Avron going north, the prices go up. The developer said he surveyed everyone in the neighborhood about building his rinky dink new hood, yet no one my parents know were surveyed. Since it's only one way in and such a small neighborhood, they are gonna have to deal with construction of cheap houses on small lots clogging up the area for the next few years. Hopefully they all burn down

Because it's in Jefferson Parish...

They could say, "Like Lakeview, but better"...

Yeah, that house. It's ugly, but even if it was my style, there's no way I'd buy it. The thing didn't have windows in it for 10+ years

Looks like someone found pics of the house online and created a fake listing...

Lee bought that house from my aunt and uncle. They still own the property on Bonnabel and I-10 service rd. No way that house is worth 350k

no he didnt.... I practically grew up and lee's house. It was my childhood friend's house and they sold to lee who was renting the house next door at the time. Who is your aunt and uncle? Also, house is easily worth 300k and anyone who thought otherwise is detached.

I grew up Harahan for a while, and then the Northshore. My parent's moved to that house after Katrina. That whole side of my family lives right around there now though. It's definitely a nice place to be. Only downside is the traffic going to the city
