The one that drives me crazy nowadays is following every thought or sentence with a random “yep” or “yeah”. I hear both men and women doing this and it just irritates me to no end.

corporate jargon

We need a thread on this, too. That shite has done incredible damage to the English language.

“Deliverables.”

ETA . “Asks.” You mean … requests, demands? We already had nouns to describe what you want to say.

Sounds like they learned it watching tv. I've noticed a way of speaking that some 40 something men do. They can take a sentence and almost make it sound like one word.

American white women tend to be the worst about this sh*t.

When I hear that high pitched nasally voice, I know I'm going to deal with a very annoying entitled person.

“Deliverables.”

This means something very specific in my world. It exists to keep clients from adding more output (deliverables) than was agreed to in the statement of work. I can't imagine using it in an internal setting though, just consulting.

Gotcha. And so that’s legitimate. I think it’s the bleed over into non-technical language and replacement of words that didn’t need to be replaced that bothers me.

Many of these are due to evolution. You evolved to not listen to women''s voices for information/direction. Men use the same centers of the brain to interpret music to process female (and children) voices.

Therefore it requires more focus and effort than it does to receive information, instruction or directions from other men.

You hang around white girls too much. You need to hang out more with female black motorcycle gang lesbians and get back to us after that.
