There's a video somewhere....that whole stretch of the river is under 24/7 surveillance.

I tried to swim the river once. Made it halfway across and realized I was too tired to make the other half so I swam back

Also, remember that the water is totally toxic. It's more like sludgy poison from the smoke-belching factories at the top of the river, swirled together with the pesticide and fertilizer run-off from farms in the Mississippi River watershed... it's a funky, nasty brew. That does not seem like a good idea to dunk yourself in.
BS. This is the drinking water source for Nola.

s it illegal to swim in the river
Not when I was a kid. I’ve been swimming in that river over a 100 times. I tried to cross it on a surfboard when I was a teenager. Impossible she swim that redline. Like the poster said earlier they must be Eddy current on the West Bank bringing her back up river the only way possible

Amazing she didn't get hit by some floating debris or something it was definitely unsafe
If she is in the current, then she’s moving pretty much the same speed as the debris and wouldn’t be getting ‘hit’ by anything.

Have you seen NOPD response times lately?

I used to swim a mile a day. It really could have been me.

I. Don’t. Believe. That. shite. For. 1. Minute.

I don't either. I rode the Algiers ferry a couple of weekends ago, and it is inconceivable to me that someone could do this. That river current was really ripping. In the best of conditions she would have emerged way downriver.

And she may have had the implantable too!!!

The river routinely pulls 40 to 50 foot trees underwater.
Car to expound on this any? Something I wouldn’t have thought would happen.

Large tree trunks are constantly floating down the river. The current will just randomly pull them underwater. All kinds of crap is going down the river during
