Problem with many of these protesters is that they don't understand the game they are playing. They think its fun and games and will get them a few clicks or street cred in their circles.
In reality, they are putting themselves in very dangerous situations and their actions are helping their cause or fight. Officers, ICE and other enforcement agencies carry firearms for a reason...they have dangerous jobs that carry real life risks.
If you put yourself in the area where real life risks are involved you risk getting killed.
The protesters treat it like a game when it is not.
I'm in support of protesting and I believe it is a fundamental right that is a major part of a freedoms. However, you have to be smart. Protest in front of the capitol. Have an organized march (that will have police protection). Those protests, even ones I disagree with, are fine. They are safely getting their message out and no one is being put into danger.
Surrounding officers or ICE when they are conducting operations is putting yourself in a dangerous situation that you aren't trained to be in.
Am I happy the lady lost her life? No Do I think she deserved to lose her life? also no. But she put herself in a completely dangerous and avoidable situation and as a result she lost her life.
Last time I went to the 4th of July fireworks in Baton Rouge (a bad idea) the police were arresting some people that were being hostile. This was occurring on the road I needed to take to get back to the parking garage (St. Phillip Street, I was parked at the Casino). I noticed the situation and instead of entering a dangerous situation, I walked to the next street (St. Louis) and avoided the dangerous situation.
Purposely entering yourself in a dangerous situation is reckless and dangers not only your life but the people trying to conduct their business as well.

She actually waved at a vehicle coming from off the road to pass in front of her, but she still started forward twice towards it while it was passing in front. She then went on to block the lane of the oncoming truck with the officer who then got out and tried to arrest her.
Fact Check: The VP was correct on the waving, correct on first shot, and as of now undecided on shots 2 and 3 (on top of your alleged quote of him being misleading) and not “completely divorced from reality” as you stated.

Is it possible that Trump had seen the cell phone video? If you watch that, you really don't know what happened at the end because of the way the camera drops. If you have been told that the officer was hit by the vehicle (he was) and taken to the hospital (he did go afterwards for a hip injury), is it possible to draw some conclusions based on the video that may not be 100 percent accurate at first?
Also, were you critical of Obama's comments about the Trayvon Martin shooting before all of the facts were known in that case?
