Just wait until someone sues a homeowners insurance because they contracted COVID in their house.

And now there's precedent too.

We are all fricked if this stands.

This was way past that case. That case had notifications, requests, and everything short of corporate orders to not keep their coffee so hot.

I just do not understand how a car insurance company is on the hook for this.

The initial award in the McD coffee deal is a big number. It was reduced on appeal to like $100 grand.

Well this take is fricking stupid.

I hope no one contracts the flu at your house during a party.

You're going to be held liable for their illness and your insurance company is going to shell out millions of dollars because they got it from your house.

That seem right to you?

ETA: This judgement was upheld on appeal from the decision made at arbitration. Three actual judges confirmed this decision.

Can you read?

A Missouri woman was awarded a $5.2 million settlement against her ex-boyfriend's car insurance company after she claimed that she got a sexually transmitted disease from him after they had sex in his 2014 Hyundai Genesis.

Los Angeles personal injury attorney Miguel Custodio, co-founder of Custodio and Dubey LLP, told DailyMail.com that the settlement was reasonable.

I guarantee you that a little less than half of the posters in this thread have, or have had, HPV. This is about as stupid as a judgment can get.

Maybe I’m stupid, but I don’t understand this at all.

They had sex in a car leading to an STD, and she sued the car company?

Can someone explain this to me like I’m 5?

HPV? It’s estimated that 80% of sexually active people have that. It’s not a big deal. Most don’t even get symptoms

I doubt has anything close. Geico will pay the limits of the policy and this chick will have to get an award in excess of the policy limits. She can garnish his wages and put Leon’s on any future windfalls.

People sue gun manufacturers because of what someone did with them

Insurance company forced to pay $5,200,000 because someone is a slut.

Is there any accountability left?
