A 21-year-old woman fell to her death from a bridge in Brazil after bungee jump staff launched her over the edge without attaching her safety rope.

Maria Eduarda Rodrigues de Freitas died at the Ponte do Esqueleto, an abandoned railway bridge in Limeira, São Paulo, after workers launched her from a 130ft drop in a "Superman" pose.

Her fiancé reportedly witnessed what happened and was overwhelmed by shock at the scene.

Footage of the moments before the fall showed two members of staff carrying Ms Rodrigues de Freitas horizontally by her arms and legs towards the edge, apparently unaware that her harness had not been connected to the main rope.

As she was released, voices could be heard shouting: "The rope, people, the rope." The camera then moved to show a safety line lying on the platform.

Firefighters and paramedics were called, with witnesses reportedly trying to revive Ms Rodrigues de Freitas before paramedics arrived. She was pronounced dead from multiple injuries at the scene.

130 ft? The first call should have been to the coroner. Nobody's surviving that.

I'm appalled someone would attempt that again after that same company already killed two others just this weekend.

Horrible.

It's disturbing watching the videos of people dying.

The more disturbing part to me is that I am sitting here watching it, living my own life, and someone's life is breaking down. It makes me think about if the roles were reversed, there would be some guy living his life, maybe seeing it and typing about it, and then will move on in an hour.

It's really unsettling.

Walking out of the hospital after my father died, I heard some people laughing at the nurse's station. During the funeral procession, the sheriffs had traffic stopped. I'm sure a lot of people were annoyed at the delay. Life goes on.

I'm no different. I was at a funeral for a non relative recently and afterward we went to a restaurant and had a nice lunch.

Yeah how do they forget to do put on the strap and not a single person around doesn’t notice it? Calling BS on this.

Not sure what’s the greater offense:

Your OP being the 4th time we’ve heard this story here today or the fact that you used the quotes from the story as your own wording.

Wonder how much he paid the workers to get out of his engagement.

I hope you figure it out, but neither are even halfway offensive.
