That’s how I know you’re full of shite. This isn’t about “ the existence of gay people”. This is about stopping the outright grooming of children by gay people.
Nice try though groomer.

Again showing your inability to read. My first post in this thread I stated that the problem with the bill is the vagueness of it.
Here’s a line from the preamble of the bill.
quote:
classroom discussion about sexual orientation or gender identity.
But the actual text of the bill says this…
quote:
classroom instruction by school personnel or third parties on sexual orientation or gender identity may not occur.
So is it discussion or instruction, or both? The bill doesn’t define what either of those are.
My opinion is the bill intentionally vague to cause confusion and silence gay teachers over the fear of being sued and/or fired for merely mentioning their sexual orientation. That opinion is based on a society where heterosexuality is cooked into the culture and there’s no concern over discussing it with children, which isn’t the case for homosexuality. So the outcome of the bill is it will disproportionately impact the gay community because it was designed to do just that.

Losing their “tax exempt status”. This is as accurate as those that say “don’t say gay bill”

Also, I’m about to link all the “Nike stock is plummeting” threads from a few years ago during the Kaep drama

How many third graders have you had this discussion with? My guess is none.
If you're having these discussions with kids K-3 in school, you're grooming. These people are pissed that they can't tell kids to discuss these things with parents?
Tells me the teachers really just want to discuss their dysfunctions.

The only thing the bill needs to tidy up is kids who approach teachers with questions due to issues with themselves due to mental issues, abuse from home, etc. Maybe it’s already in there but I haven’t seen it
Everyone screams “that’s the parents job!!!” Some of the kids in this country have complete frick sticks for parents, so that isn’t really an answer

This bill doesn’t cause or solve that problem. Schools have employees beyond the teachers who can help with guidance of that nature. They even have the word counselor in their title.

Disney world won't lose the special district. They are just losing it on the state level. Orange and Osceola don't want to absorb Reedy Creek.
Look for disney to continue mostly under status quo with the counties giving the same special district.
This whole situation is the result of everyone being ridiculous.
- The media for misrepresenting the Florida law, mostly because of the governor’s likely status as a 2024 POTUS candidate. This is the most predictable thing in this list. You have to expect the media to be dishonest and politically motivated. They don’t report the news anymore. They routinely spread misinformation and attack any entity that tries to spread the truth. They are ALWAYS playing the political game.
- LGBTQ+ for allowing themselves to be taken advantage of by a hyper political media and for allowing their movement to be co-opted by anyone the Democratic Party wants - including people that are totally cool linking their political movement to issues involving children and sex/gender. I am disappointed that more didn’t call bullshite on this, especially as it became clear that the media was being dishonest about the law. Maybe they did and got banned on Twitter for it. Wouldn’t surprise me either way.
- Disney (particularly their leadership) for involving itself in local issues involving sex and children to the point where Florida voters demanded that their special district status be challenged by the legislature. All this as a child porn sting that involved a bunch of Disney park employees made headlines nationwide. Disney should know how their bread is buttered and how to read the room. They don’t need potential visitors deciding to go somewhere else this summer for any reason. Recession fears and inflation will hit them hard enough later this year. It’s too risky to piss off a bunch of families, especially with all this economic headwind now.
***The asterisk here is that I know that there are legitimately good people at Disney and among the LGBTQ movement that are outraged by this. I can’t say the same for the media. This whole thing is on them.

I discussed homosexuality with both of my kids when they were in elementary school when a kid in my daughter’s 1st grade class had 2 moms. They both shrugged their shoulders and moved on with their life.

The first thing you need to watch to see how Disney is doing is the number of DVC contracts for sale. Those are your most loyal customers. Don’t look at the price. Disney has nearly complete price control due to what’s called Right of First Refusal. But the number of contracts up for sale has been slowly increasing for about 8 months as people take their last vacations they had planned during the pandemic.

Cool, your kids. Amazing. The teachers didn't even have to get involved.
That's precisely who teachers are supposed to refer kids to when questions arise.

So don’t mention it. It bans the discussion of sexual identify. Don’t announce to K-3 that you’re gay. If you must discuss what you did this weekend, say partner or spouse.
And guess what, this law applies evenly to straight teachers too.

quote:Well it Kinda does actually
This bill doesn’t cause or solve that problem.
quote:
Parents would have the right to opt their children out of counseling and health services.
quote:
Lines 106-109; 114-118: At the beginning of the school year, each school district shall notify parents of each healthcare service offered at their student’s school and the option to withhold consent or decline any specific service. … Before administering a student well-being questionnaire or health screening form to a student in kindergarten through grade 3, the school district must provide the questionnaire or health screening form to the parent and obtain the permission of the parent.
On the service this sounds great, good healthy parents should have that right. However, the world is full of abusivr parents, that can now take their abused child out of the only program the child had.
I like the overall attempt at this bill, but they left loose ends

No K-3 student has this on their mind unless it’s being brought up to them by someone.

Why would you be talking about sexuality to kids anyway...homo or hetero or the other weird ways? People are sick.
