Let’s see, they have an NFL team, they’re about to have MLB and will soon have an NBA team. They’re situated in a state with no income tax and well off people from Cali are flooding in. Every time I’ve been over the last couple of years it’s been packed. Yes, things are expensive there. It’s not the Vegas of old. But a ghost town? I don’t think so.

With online gambling I expect yes. I think Vegas was a destination 80% related to gambling. It will look like Atlantic City in a decade. No doubt.
I don’t think you can run enough shows there unrelated to gambling to keep the tourists visiting

I like going for the first weekend of the NCAA tourney, and playing poker when the games are done for the day. Last time I was there I had a hooker offer to "suck my dick from the back" which was interesting. It was two of them. One hot, one looked the Kardashians ugly cousin

Heading to Vegas in August for a AC/DC concert I'm excited about going back there.

Yea.. Vegas is stuck in the year 2002 and never coming out of it. The place is washed up and very cheesy while being a total fricking ripoff

Classic ‘I live in Louisiana and everywhere else is going to shite’ post.
Ok gramps, you may not be able to stay up for the nightlife, and the buffet is cheaper off-strip, but, Vegas ain’t dead.
It changes - The Dunes got replaced a long time ago.

Have you been there lately? Vegas is literally one of the fastest growing cities in the country

It’s a gimmick destination. The shine has worn off. I’ve been twice, once by choice the second time a bachelor party. Never will go again

I just flew out of there a few weeks ago and was shocked with how enormous the suburbs are there now.
The idea that someone in Louisiana is saying Vegas is going to become a ghost town is rich

If you go to Vegas with Seven Stars people like my wife and her cousin, then all meals and hotels and transportation to and from the airport is comped.

A chunk of their survival are the corporate expo/ conference events. A lot depends on how well Vegas can keep these events in town or lose them to other cities or either the corporations eliminate them altogether.

"Fastest growing city"?? Vegas has never depended on the locals to support the City.

There are only so many people that can afford to pay the price for a flight, hotel, food and table minimums at Vegas. They got over their skis and eliminated 95% of the population being able to afford it.

Seems like Fremont St and the old feel of Vegas is doing better than the new super resorts.
If people leave The Strip, they’ll realize you can still do Vegas on a budget.
You can stay off strip at a casino or a budget motel. You can wander into a CVS off strip and get beer for cheap. Find what you want to splurge on and restrict it to that. I mean, that’s traveling on a budget 101. If you are wanting to save money, buying a light beer for $15 is about the dumbest thing you can do.

It's some tier level at Caesar's properties. I'm not sure what it means, but it's pretty high. Basically, my wife and her cousin both have a host that sets everything up and handles any issues. Back in Janu,my wife had to wait in a long line. Her host found out and sent a "nice" gift basket in the mail.
But the casinos don't give me a damn thing. I'm still the lowest tier level.

Yes. Probably sooner. Place sucks.

The limiting factor isn't tourism or lack thereof. It's water. Whether man-made or part of the natural cycle, climate in the west has changed and there's more demand for Colorado River water than there is water available. Snowpack across the west is on average 35% of normal. They're having to practically drain the reservoirs in the upper Colorado Basin to keep the water level in Lake Powell from dropping below the intakes.
The water crisis is no longer in the future. It's now.

You are right Jim Rockford. Water shortages are going to cause some serious problems there.

Vegas has evolved over the years
It was low price, low quality
Then high price, high quality
Now it’s high price, low quality
I think they will figure it out, seems like it’s starting
