This is a direct result of feminism. It has preached women don’t need men to succeed and that any repression of female sexual urges is wrong.

One of the biggest winners of feminism is dead beat dads

Rightly or wrongly, it is a result in less and less people giving a crap about church. Church's (and similar groups) used to be a great judging ground and it kept many in line with social norms like staying married, taking care of your kids, paying your bills, etc etc.

Also, removing local banks. You didn't want to be in church and not pay your mortgage. You would see your banker there. Now who gives a crap of big evil Wells Fargo? You don't even know if the person you got the loan from online was even in the USA.

Maybe down here in the Bible Belt, this may be true however there is zero incentive to make correct decisions anymore..

Cradle to the grave benefits make it an appealing deal. Free everything and you can still get the Dick... like sure why the frick not just fire away into my guts and let me get that baby and the check and the food stamps.

No, it’s not an opinion, it’s a fricking fact. Yes you have the Barack Obama’s out there who thrive, but these are the .1% of these kids. How many kids with parents that are together and emphasize an education are in gangs? Almost zero? Why don’t I see many Asian gangs in this country?

what yall are doing is worry-warting over the stats of all kids in this country, but this is one kid and only the OP knows the people involved. we don't know the relationship between mom and dad, or whom they'll become in the next decade. we don't know the influence extended family will have on the child.

Yes we do. It's right in the OP.

21 years old, 2 kids by 2 different men. That says an awful lot IMO.

I thinks there's a >50% chance this girl will be a mother of 3 children by 3 different men before 30.

She will probably be on government assistance for the rest of her life.

What the hell is wrong with these people?!

We have now entered the disposable culture. Everything is subject to being thrown away....our plastic and foam cups.....our relationships....our aborted babies. Some women actually throw away their babies at birth. Occasionally we read reports of a baby found in a dumpster or restroom trash can somewhere. Don't want to live with your partner.....split up. No commitment, no inconvenience. Want sex......hookup with someone.

There is a stiff penalty to this disposal mentality. Recent statistics indicate our birthrate has so declined that we're no longer replacing ourselves. Heck if it wasn't for our Latino families we'd be in a very sharp decline....population wise. The extermination of the human race has begun, much to the delight of the global warming - climate change hoaxters.

No I don't believe having babies out of wedlock will ever be taboo again.

They keep saying, my body, my choice, but then say it takes a village to raise a child. Guess what, the village didn’t raise my kids, and if they are raising someone else’s, the kids are at risk. Personal responsibility is being vaporized along with the nuclear family.

Smart people aren't replacing themselves. It makes you wonder you smart they really are.

The population growth rate has declined, pretty steadily through the late 1900s and early 2000s but it's still a net increase annually.

Some prognosticators expect it to start hitting a net negative around 2050, if current declines continue.

Globally, yes, but many develop nations have lower than replacement level birth rates.

Considering 50% of marriages end in divorce, I would say the rule is pretty true that kids grow up in a home with miserable parents

Marriage’s central concept is one thing: bringing up kids in stable environments. I’m willing to bet of these divorces, at least half of them with kids end somewhat civilly wanting what’s best for them. Then there’s the other half with the crazy ex wife wanting to ruin her exes life by ripping her kids from them or the wifebeating man who never should have never bred under any circumstance, but it does provide the stable structure for providing for kids.

A man needs to be contractually obliged to raising his kids. It is our sex’s downside is we want to procreate as much as possible and if left unchecked can turn us into monsters. Family is everything and protecting the name. Women are naturally obliged to that, but men aren’t. That’s why in these communities where men are unwed spraying their seed in fertile hosts that there is crime. Race has nothing to do with it, it’s just more the norm in the African American community. Fix this, and you fix the problem in the community.

Or birth control did. Smart people looked at it properly. Dumb people shrugged it off.

You can blame Instagram and gender reveal parties bud. Narcissism is rampant in our society.

Yeah, Japan especially has a negative net population growth and has for a while.

Several European countries as well.

USA is still on the positive side.

Because of Hispanics IIRC. Every other race in America is below replacement level.

I’m a gambler. I’m playing the odds here, especially if her family is encouraging her. I’m in all liklihood right.

My step daughter did the exact same thing. Got pregnant at 18 and attending college. She was living at home. She gave birth to twins and tried to stay in college. It was hard. Her mom and I helped her with the twins ( they all lived with us)

Anyone can make a mistake. Anyone can succumb to weakness. I know I could have slipped up and had s child out of wedlock. We supported her and expressed disappointment and displeasure but accepted her and the twins.

My wife got her on the pill immediately. The next year she was pregnant again. Different guy. I had enough. I told her to go find this ones daddy and for them to raise the child. She didn’t.

She moved in with her brother. My wife and I adopted the twins and my cousin adopted the other child.

She eventually found a good guy and settled down and got married. She has a daughter she is raising and she is now a really good mother and wife.

I don’t have any answers for how best to handle this. We should have gotten her on birth control sooner, but as far as how to keep her from having premarital sex in this day and age, I don’t think you can.

Having a baby out of wedlock will likely never be taboo again, the world loses it's morals ever more with each new generation.

IMO you can't make a nutty bipolar chick act right or not be psycho but a man should ALWAYS be, not just a father, but a Great father.
