WTF was that question about dates on the quiz? Like “are you fascinated by dates” or whatever. My bent brain was wondering if they were talking about the fruit or the relationship type. And how could someone be fascinated by either one?

You should accept her diagnosis. Now you have an out for any bullshite event she wants you to attend. Just claim you’re not comfortable going because of your aspergers.

Reading this just pisses me off. She’s attracted to the guy because he’s the strong, silent,no BS guy.Now she wants him to turn into this touchy-freely,life of the party guy.Frick her and her friends.
I’m an OCD perfectionist type guy about a lot of things.I worked with my wife and that’s one thing that attracted her. I didn’t cut corners,I tried to excel in my job.
I am same way about mowing the grass, for example. When I get finished it’s perfect.
I’m like that about several things.Anyway, one day she started biitching that I was too much a perfectionist.I quickly told her that she knew that before she married me,if it was too much of a problem,we could get un-married.Haven’t heard anymore about that.
We didn’t have any children together so it would be much easier for me to walk away.

I'm not mad at her friends.
They mean no ill will.
But, the testing seems super arbitrary to me.

I think at least 50% of straight males, particularly in Science and Engineering would test positive on the test she gave me.

A large percentage of folks are douchbags and dumbasses. You sound like a normal guy. PIIHB and tell her to make you a sandwich.

I’d be pissed that my wife was telling people I was autistic behind my back.

Sounds a lot like me... though didn't get a degree in and don't have a job in STEM - wish I did looking back at it now. I'm 32 but no way in hell I'm going back to school to do anything different. I'd get an MBA if I did anything. I have a few very close best friends (unfortunately one's in Cali and one's in Maryland), and otherwise a few very good friends here locally, and SEVERAL acquaintances. I can be social around anyone, complete strangers, etc.. I meet people at the bar. But I tend to go to the same bar now where I mostly know everyone at this point.
I could go on and on, but I don't think you have Asperger's either. Wtf is wrong with your wife and why would she want you to have Asperger's? Or have it confirmed? Her friends sound like count too.

Not that I know a ton about autism, but what you described doesn't sound like the folks I know who are on the spectrum. Granted, I know it manifests differently in different people. But everyone I've met who are diagnosed or that I internally diagnose (lol) are loud, harsh, and a bit know-it-all. Not a lot of awareness for how loud and obnoxious they are being in public. That kind of thing.

tell her she needs to make reasonable accommodations for your disability. things like time to yourself to work on your social skills down at the sports bar, or maybe meditation and other zen activities like fly fishing or woodworking, or mariokart

Stare at your wife's friend's brown eye.

You could always turn her in for practicing without a license. How are things at home?

Honestly, it's not a big deal.

I went to school with a guy who had Asperger's, if you touched his desk at all, even accidentally, he would lose his mind on you. He also spoke with no one, unless he was informing you that you touched his desk, or cut in line. Asperger's is a pretty serious form of Autism.
Are you on the spectrum? Idk, probably. I wouldn't think to much about it though, what we call autism today is not what we called autism just ten years ago. After 2013, the only qualifiers for autism are difficulties with social interactions and repetitive behavior. So if you get anxious at parties and stick to a routine, you're on the spectrum.
The continued broadening of the definition of Autism is one of the largest (and potentially the only) factor in why we've seen a spike in autism since 1980 (when the definition of autism was first given).
Don't tell that to any anti-vaxers though, they'll bring to you www.imright.com and show you a study that disproves everything
