5,000 students, awful athletics aside from the recent upbringing of the football team by Tim Rebowe. Below average academics. Seems like its a burden on the Louisiana government to keep it open. My fellow down south baws need to go to a real school like SELA, LSU, or ULL

Same reason everything else in Louisiana makes no sense.

Corruption.

You can say the same about 90% of the satellite campuses for the LSU and ULL systems.

Louisiana has something like the most 4 year campuses per capita of anywhere and for no reason. We could easily consolidate a few campuses and save millions in higher ed

Crossing the river is like witchcraft to most of the students.

Leave RPCC out of this!

They are proud of that .06% graduation rate!

RPCC Graduation Rate

Couldnt make this up if I tried.

Yes, I know, I’ve ranted and documented the massive fraud of the community college scam system, but recent statistics really point out how bad things are. Inside Higher Education has a helpful page of all sorts of college related statistics. Today we’re looking at River Parishes Community College, in Louisiana, a two year college that’s been around over 10 years, and even recently was given a new campus…it must be a pretty successful school to be given such a boon, right? Now, community colleges primarily offer 2 year degrees. So, what percent of students that step onto RPCC’s campus actually have a degree 2 years later? Inside Higher Education tracks such things, so it’s easy to click a few buttons and find out. The success rate? 0.6%...I’m serious. Over the course of 10 years, not one student in 150 has actually managed to get a 2 year degree within 2 years. Is RPCC a fraud? Is RPCC merely a joke? It’s hard to tell, but the official statistics sure don’t look so good. Halley’s comet is considered a rare event, because it only comes by less than 1.5% of years. A 2 year graduate of RPCC is more rare than Halley’s comet.

At least they have an excuse...SUNO is an actual 4 year university with a less than 10% graduation rate

Nicholls is way down on the list of useless colleges in a state that funds 3 HBCUs in locations that already have major universities along with embarrassing graduation numbers.

Grumbling, SUNO, and Southern should be defunded well before a university like Nicholls.

5,000 students

Is that really that small for a university?

Among the schools that submitted these data for fall 2017, the average number of undergraduate students was 6,316. In contrast, the average among the 10 schools with the highest undergraduate enrollment was 45,283.

So their undergrad enrollment is slightly below average

Sorry, I forgot. In 2019 all facts and logic must be thrown out in the name of wokeness, which is why these wastes of taxpayer dollars will exist forever.

The word racist is so ridiculously watered down now that it has pretty much lost all meaning to me.

Isn’t RPCC mainly a technical training community college for the plants? Meaning those attending aren’t in pursuit of an associates degree, rather job-specific credentials and certification(s)?

I agree. I typically just roll my eyes and think: "That's all you got?" Usually it's someone that doesn't have a leg to stand on in an argument thinking it will shut you down when they say it...nope, just proves to me the person has no valid argument

Is it possible that Louisiana would ever shut down any campus?
