Op is paying $1400 a month in insurance with a $6200 copay.
Let me break this down.
I am on Medicare, plus I carry plan "F". What Medicare doesn't pay, Plan "F" steps in and pays 100%.
The $6200 copay is just for the wife. Thanks to Obama, the same insurance cost less then 2K per year for the wife with only a 1K copay.

And you will now get downvoted by the soy boys who worship that piece of shite.

Because of old people. Most healthcare is spent on the very last bit of life. If we could come to terms with our own mortality and sought to die peacefully instead of trying to squeeze out another day no matter the cost we’d be in much better shape both financially as well as mentally.
Thanks Obama.
I would say babies births too, so i'm sure you'll be in tune with Obama and his radical abortion stance. Stop old people from being a burden from the start.

What is a CRT-D? I looked it up: Cardiac resynchronization therapy device, defibrillator. It cost that much because you would be dead without it if you needed it. Ridiculous, what happens to those without insurance? They die. Only in America.

Did Obama decide that ambulance rides should be thousands of dollars?
Did Obama decide Aspirin should cost $250 a pill?
Did Obama decide that water should be $500 a unit?
Congratulations. You've just discovered how hospitals cover the cost of people riding the ambulance to the emergency room to treat their cold who have no intention of paying any of the bills.

If by step forward you mean shutting down hospitals and making doctors move to other countries.

Wasn’t complaining by any means. We are very fortunate that she was able to get the care that she did. I was just stating the costs of the medical care. I’m thankful for her Dr and glad he is good as he is .
The number you saw doesn't reflect the cost of care. It includes what's discounted to the payor, raised prices to cover denials and shite reimbursement, cost of equipment and the resources (those resources are paid decent wages because of the investment made in education, which are inflated costs, also licensing and continuing education), the administrative costs of getting your claim paid, and much more. Plus, hospitals need to make money to keep the lights on. There is no simple answer.

Flip side is single payer health care offers no guarantee the insured would get the surgery.
With single payer health care, it allows the government to decide was is "essential" to save the life.

We pay for those that don't. Same thing as car insurance.
It's not that simple. Prescription drug prices are higher here than anyplace else in the world, regardless of whether the other countries have socialized medicine or not. There are plenty of countries without socialized healthcare that don't have the expenses we do.

And where are most prescription drugs developed?
For the ones that are developed outside the US, compare the requirements and costs to bring the drug to market in their country versus the FDA process here in the US.
Do this and you'll have your answer as to why this is the case.

yea, that's not what brokers do. At least not the good ones. The idea is to find a program that keeps costs down and the best coverage available to employees. That doesn't always work out, because brokers don't dictate the premium. They are there advocate on your behalf. Commercial payers are the ones who want your money.
Hell, most brokers on large accounts don't take commissions. They work on a fee.
By all means, go navigate the insurance marketplace on your own.
Full disclosure, I don't broker health insurance. I broker malpractice and related insurances for health care entities and physicians. Similar concept.

when the illegals and other members of the welfare class stop using the hospitals like primary care givers, the cost will come down. hospitals are losing money because of the emergency rooms.

Remember when insurance companies used to compete for our business? I remember.
Bc of Obama and the democrats, we only have one company writing policies for self insureds in Louisiana. Prices have sky rocketed since 2011.
It’s sad that a majority of you nerds want single payer.

So you:
1. Had normal blood pressure off medications
2. Had a normal BMI
3. Didn’t use tobacco
4. Didn’t drink more than 1-2 drinks a couple times a week
5. Weren’t diabetic, taking any meds associated with chf
Correct?

This doesn't happen at all. They get the care they need, and people who have insurance pay the cost.

Where are those drugs researched, tested, and developed? How much does the regulation of processes cost? It's like the argument about military soending, yes we spend a lot but we're also stationed all around the world protecting those that don't.
