I don't...because they are too expensive. And they would get scratched, or broken, or lost. How about the rest of the OT?

You can get super nice sunglasses from Sams or Costco for $29.

I own a pair of prescription Oakley's for when I'm in the field running ranges, etc.

Because I don't like to keep up with sunglasses.
I don't like rings, necklaces, wallets or anything else that I have to keep up with.
I usually let my assistants keep up with that stuff and hand it to me when I need it.
I don't pay attention to what brand they are.

I bought a pair of polarized Oakleys in the early 2000s. Within a few months the coating on the lenses had bubbled up around the edges and started to flake. Too much money to have that happen.

I have owned several pair over the years but not a fan of their styles now. Not sure if they changed or if my tastes & preferences changed. Oakley's are overpriced, as are Costa, Maui Jim, RayBan, etc. But shades are like everything else in that you get what you pay for.

I have several pair but I don't wear any. When the frosting kit that I was using for my hair became unavailable, the new color was incompatible with all of the white frames. So I've had to move on.

Own a pair of Costas I got off of Steep and Cheap. They are excellent for driving but so heavy they droop down my nose in the summer when just walking. It's laughable really but I didn't notice it until the return period was up. They stay in my truck. They're 580P with Amber lenses.
Went to Academy and bought another pair to fish with. They are Cat Cay's with the 580P and blue polarized lenses.
Having fished with the $30 Bass Pros and $60 Under Armours in the last 3 years, breaking down and buying Costas and fishing with them was a revelation. Whoever says you can get away with polarized lenses from there or Cabela's is simply inaccurate.
There is a big difference in terms of early morning light and then all-day sight fishing using Costa products versus bargain bin or competitor products. Am I saying they are worth $160? No I am not. But they are far more higher quality and work much, much better than the low rent, cheap substitutes.

I have owned a couple of prescription glasses (not shades)and they were good frames. Comfortable and the lens shape gave me good visibility.

I lose mine about once a year, not spending more than 20 bucks for that reason

They are a niche sunglass product to me...like for skiing or for sports, not a casual everyday wear sunglass product IMHO...

If you do not participate in sports owning them seems kind of pointless. I prefer rayban myself

I do - I have a pair of Flak Jackets I bought 9 years ago. Fantastic sunglasses - I can't count the times I forgot they were on. Recently got a pair of Flak 2.0s - but I still have my originals - just simpler to get a whole new set and, perhaps, convert the old ones to polarized - the lenses started getting long in the tooth at about the 7 or 8 year mark.
Now - I do get them for about half price with a military discount, and I don't have all the crazy color options, which is fine with me. I'm fine with flat black frames and grey lenses.
