Used to. Just not a fan of the style anymore. Have had my current pair of Costas for 5 years. Sent them in for repair for $20 and received a brand new pair in return. Don't see a reason to switch.

Ray Ban Wayfarers for me. I like the old school look.

I don't buy into any Luxottica brands, all garbage that is artificially inflated.

My prescription Oakleys.....

Posted on 9/13/17 at 8:40 am to MardiGrasCajun
I have Oakleys. Only wear them while out cycling. So comfortable... I don't think I would wear them as casual though.

Been wearing them since the originals back in the mid-'80s. Right now I have around a half dozen pair, most of them older models I don't wear anymore. I continue to wear Oakleys because they look good, they last, and they sponsor the sports that I've participated in and have been a fan of (motocross, roadracing, etc.).
I think most Oakley haters are old fat bald guys who just can't connect with the brand/lifestyle.
ETA: My prescription glasses are Oakleys also.

I had a pair of Oakleys drop from a 3rd story balcony onto the parking lot. Not even a scratch on them. They're expensive for a reason

I think I have an old pair somewhere that I cut grass in. At least I think they're Oakley's. My Rx sunglasses are Maui Jim and Costa. The Costa's are better for running/cycling and other outdoor stuff. The MJ is better for driving.

I don't wear oakleys because I don't want to look like a douche bag.

I have an old pair I weed eat and work in the yard with. They are actually the most durable shades I have owned.

. I've purchased expensive sunglasses when I was a young man and felt the sting of them being lost, scratched, etc., never again.
that's me. i have a pair of Nike Veers that i got at super discount for running and biking. i just am not careful enough with sunglasses to justify spending nice money on them. same with watches and knives.
i do have a nice pair of prescription ray-bans, but they're not sun glasses.

I know it doesn't make me an OT baller, but I don't see the reason to spend that much money on sunglasses.
For all the reasons you mentioned.
But once I get a Cali lean I'll put an Oakley sticker in the rear window.

If you ever get a chance to visit their headquarters in Lake Forest, in Orange County, it's worth the tour. When Jim Jennard, who started Oakley, was designing the look of the building, which is a mix between Gotham City, Alien and Terminator, he was looking for an idea to add something related to his aviator series. I was contacted by his graphics guy, someone I know who had previously performed some custom work for me. He introduced me to Jim and I suggested that I could source some B-52 ejector seats if he was interested. He was, and I put him in touch with a team that was cannibalizing several B-52's for parts. He was able to purchase four of these before someone in the government shut it down. They wanted the four seats back, but he refused. Hell, I tried to buy one from him, and he refused, and I was the guy that made it happen! But it's all good. I met lots of the staff and have friends there today. I only wear Oakly, everything is prescription and custom-made in their facility, not an off-site lab. Here's the entrance:

Why do(n't) you own a pair of Oakleys?
Because they're are a ton of other brands. Many putting out better quality lenses and better frame styles.

I don't...because they are too expensive. And they would get scratched, or broken, or lost. How about the rest of the OT?
Because sunglasses are sunglasses.

I do not as I am not a baseball outfielder.
