In might also be interesting to know that Ray Bans are manufactured by Oakley, as are Vogue, Persol, Chanel,Prada, Armani, Versace, DKNY and others.
The entire production facility at Oakley is a huge robot system, where the frames and lenses are produced with tolerances down to as small as 4 microns.

I have a pair I use for outdoor activities like running, cycling, etc. I wear my Costa's everyday but don't like the heavy lenses when doing high activity

I own a couple pairs. The oldest being around 17 years old and still going strong. I've always had good luck with Oakleys. It's too bad a lot of their stuff is no longer made in the USA.

Yep. frick Luxottica. I refuse to buy anything from them or their stores. I miss having a Costco around to get cheap, quality polarized glasses.

The best glasses I've ever owned. I'm not a big fan of some of the styles out there now, but love my Oakleys

I like Costa and maui Jim.
Oakley is crap, they deteriorate quickly and don't have nearly the optical quality of costa or MJ

) however, I can tell you that I have been all through their factory in the US and there are many millions of dollars of robots spitting out these frames and lenses, assembling and packaging them. All of the accessory stuff is made outside the US, but I can assure you, they manufacture the frick out of sunglasses in Orange County.
