Have you ever driven almost literally anywhere in New Orleans? Your Protestant roads are probably superior.

My guess on more road funding (despite the fact that South La has really shitty roads too) is the volume of traffic.
I-12, I-10, Hwy 90, 190, 61, I-55, I-59, etc etc.

Y'all have I-20 and the accompanying interchanges, but there's just more through traffic to TX and MS through South La as well as local traffic based on a bigger population.

That said, for the eternal construction/repair projects happening, the roads down here are nothing to brag about either

People in South Louisiana have horrible genetics. It comes from being the descendants of a bunch of low bred Canadian criminals. That's why they are so ugly, short, loud and stupid. You'll find that most of the them never leave their fetid, oil soaked squalors and deem everything not from said squalor to be inferior. They are completely oblivious to the outside world. The bravest of the brave coonass may venture to Houston or Gulf Shores, but that is the extent of their travels. Their diet is atrocious. They are horrible stewards of the land; littering, defiling and raping it of its wildlife and natural resources. And to top it off their women are disgusting foul mouthed whores. The opinion of these mutant sub-humans should not be considered, much less valued. They are insignificant mutts whose whole existence is a farce. At best they should be pitied. At worst corralled into camps and isolated from the rest of the world.

That's the thing, there is no real reason to go.

Does north Louisiana have professional sports, major collegiate sports, or some big sporting event? No.

Does north Louisiana typically host big concerts or have some major music venue consistently reeling in big names? No. Those are typically held in New Orleans.

Does north Louisiana have some big annual festival? Jazz Fest? Voodoo Fest? Festival International? French Quarter Fest? Hell, Strawberry Festival? No. Not really.

Does north Louisiana have some pristine lakes, mountains, beaches, hiking trails? No. Not really.

Does north Louisiana have great hunting and fishing? Hunting, maybe. Fishing is certainly better in south Louisiana.

There really just isn't a reason to go.

Mer Rouge was closer to South La in culture despite being in the Northern half of the state. Bastrop boys didnt take kindly:
