What color Yamamoto are you using. Those things are deadly in my pond.
re: Phil Robertson passed away

I grew up just a few miles from him. My dad kept his boat at Mr. Phil's house. This would have been late 70s early 80s I guess. I was at their house many, many times as a kid.
My dad's story: He was running slat traps on the river and Mr. Phil motored up to him with a shotgun on his lap. He said he had been watching my dad and he knew my dad never ran anyone else's lines or traps and if my dad wanted to leave our boat at his house he would shoot anyone that tried to mess with it. So the boat stayed at their house when we were running traps.
They were friends from then on. I specifically remember a conversation between my dad and him where Mr. Phil explained the type of cypress lumber he wanted for his duck calls. He showed my dad what he was looking for.
Mr. Phil got very private in his personal life as the years went on. When my parents would see them at the local store, Ms. Kay would go in and Mr. Phil would sit in the car. I guess he didn't want to be bothered by people but he would always talk to my dad. He was a good man and if you stood near him too long he would start preaching to you.
Weird thing is I don't really know the boys. I'm right in the middle of their ages but I guess they all went to Pinecrest Elementary and Jr. High and I was at Woodlawn Elementary & Jr. High.

re: Ranch owner wants U.S. Supreme Court to hear corner-crossing case

I think you’re confused on the “facts of the case” you keep referring to. This decision is inherently linked to federal public lands and essentially upheld the Unlawful Enclosures Act, nothing the Supreme Court would presumably rule on could be easily applied to a dispute between two landowners, nor airspace above private property in general. I said I wouldn’t care if a private landowner corner crossed over me because I genuinely wouldn’t give a shite, but it has no bearing on any precedent this would establish.
Bad facts make bad law.
Don't act like this outcome wouldn't be in every CLE update on real property I understand that this case deals with federal public lands. However, I fear a supreme court ruling based on bad facts would muddy the water. Do they have to jump over the infinitesimal point where the two diagonally placed parcels touch or do they get vehicle access? I haven't read any facts of the case other than mentioned in this thread but it doesn't seem the property owner was enclosing any federal lands, only his own. Not saying what his motive was in that but it seems like that was all he was doing.
Good for you that you would allow someone to cut your corner. A large portion of people wouldn't. I just had a case where people were trying to cut the corner on a state of Louisiana parcel. Didn't fly.

I understand your point, and as a landowner who has been through it I’m telling you I wouldn’t lose a second of sleep over someone corner crossing from their land onto their land. If blocking access to the other parcel doesn’t entitle me to use it, why on earth would I care?
Yes but it could be applied to a situation bigger than someone stepping over your corner.

Absolutely not, and I especially wouldn’t feel entitled to a piece of public and treat it as my land. If it were private they’d be granted an easement and there’d be a road though his land. I deal with this exact scenario with timber land behind me that has no road frontage, it is part of owning and is an inherent risk to buying land.
Again, you are letting the facts of this specific situation get in the way of the possible outcome of the court case. I'm not referring to public lands (especially this case),j I'm talking about private lands. Depending on your individual fact situation you may or may not have to give access to someone that is landlocked.

that's what they did in this case. The guys built a ladder that never touched the private property.
The facts of this situation obscure the harm done by this decision.
I think a lot of people would feel differently if someone were hopping the corner of their own property to go from one privately owned parcel to another. .

The Public Land Survey System is used in about 30 states, including Louisiana. While people may not like the facts of this particular case, it could have a big impact on private land ownership in other situations.

Details of Lewis and Clark fishing
Looks like the only issue they had with fish is that they missed the salmon runs in the northwest due to timing of their travels.

Same recruiting class as Trevor Lawrence (on his second contract in NFL)
Was a backup to Justin Herbert (been in the NFL 5 years)
Has 4 college degrees
His age is definitely an issue.

Had the pleasure of working for a period of time in Liverpool when I was younger. My office was in the Royal Liver Building. Loved the town. Great people there. Next time I am there I will look this place up!

As someone that runs hog traps, all traps do is educate the hogs. You never catch them all. It is never done. You just hope you scare/bother them enough that the rest of them move somewhere else.

22 today is different than 22 was a generation ago. My oldest is 15 and he doesn't believe the stories of what I was able to do at 15. And my parents were strict compared to most.
If you were finishing up your first enlistment you were given a whole lot more responsibility than 99.9% of the average 22 year old these days.

Got expanded to Catahoula, La Salle, Caldwell, Richland, and Franklin parishes. I was listening to webinar.
Also, the 25 mile radius has been amended. Now you can broadcast feed between a 15 mile and the 25 mile radius. Does not included piles or stationary feeders. Only electronic broadcast feeders.
Can someone explain this further? Are these new parishes no longer allowed to feed? What is this about 15 and 25 mile radii?
I don't hunt any of those parishes but that is getting close to where I do.

The show suffers from a lack of a real budget. It wasn't as critical when they were in the desert and the SAS was small. However, when you supposedly have 2 SAS regiments in the same place in Italy and you never have more than 30 guys in formation it really shows how small the budget it.
I enjoy it but I can't say it's the best show on tv. I think expanding the budget would really help the quality of the show.
