I'm convinced that the only reason that North Louisiana hasn't become a part of Arkansas is because south Louisiana needs the tax money. It sure isn't going towards the roads in North Louisiana. At least not the major ones that matter. Frick south Louisiana.

Because South Louisiana, especially anything right off Highway 90, is a shithole that God forgot.

Ha, good one. It's not even funny, I can name way more than the roads that people have pushed to get funding on but south Louisiana has a death grip on the funds.

Based on your post, I think your subject title is in the wrong order.

It isn’t hatred, more like a disconnect. North Louisiana was always this forgotten foreign land. I’ll be honest with you, I didn’t go north of Alexandria until LSU played Michigan State in the Independence Bowl. There was no real reason to go to that portion of the state.

ETA: I’ll say this, Natchitoches is a very nice town, much nicer than many Louisiana towns in south Louisiana.

I grew up in South LA (I guess) - northern EBR parish. That area was probably more culturally like Southern MS than cajun country although we ate most common S LA foods.

I never had anything against N LA.

Seems like you have your own issues with South LA.

In all honesty, it’s probably Catholic versus Baptist. The attitudes towards alcohol, leisure, and fun are simply different.

I often wonder though, how big of a difference is present in other parts of the country between costal and inland portions of states.

Nothing exists to coonasses outside of them. They're pretty good folks, don't get it twisted. But they're a weird, insider versus outsider kinda people at the same time.

They really don't. I grew up in Shreveport, but have lived in New Orleans for 30 years. I love my motherland.

Let's be honest. Since I was a kid, people in north Louisiana have had a major inferiority complex vis-a-vis the south. It is actually not as bad as it used to be, but it's still bad.
