the worst part about 2015 was that the accusations were old, and Vitter had won statewide elections since they had came out, but now people didn’t like him? That didn’t make sense.

Because we are poor
bullshite. Look at how many plants we have in south Louisiana. Do you know how many millions of dollars these plants are producing a day? I'm not talking about each site, I'm talking about each unit in the plants. Each site you see probably averages at least 5-7 million a day in production (just a wild arse guess with no real numbers to back that claim up). But, my point is they make a shite load of money. And if the leaders that be were smart, we'd be the richest state in the union because of that. That is Louisiana's specialty.

fat
No argument there. But we also have the best food in the country, which is why we're all fat.

stupid
Poor education systems and leadership. Also, demographics.

And there's way too many soccer moms in suburbia doing stupid shite like being pissed at one candidate fricking whores on his own private time instead of getting pissed at the other guy that likes to frick the taxpayers and hold their jobs hostage.

Because our voters vote with feelings as opposed to platforms.

It’s amazing how fast this board defends Louisiana when someone claims Tx is better or anywhere else really. Yet at the same time constantly complains how shitty Louisiana.

Is this one of things like “only I can make fun of my family, you can’t say shite”??

Thanks RT. Couldn’t sleep last night, and recently moved from Louisiana as a result of my wife and I finally admitting to ourselves that Louisiana was simply never going to get it together. Sold our home and moved 1700 miles away. Pretty damn cold up here, so I used that thread to vent all the stupidity from that election.

Is this the thread where we pretend Republicans can magically fix a state of stupid people and 100 years of embedded corruption

Louisiana just needs a run of few good governors in a row. They can still be scumbags, they just need to also be skilled politicians and promote policies that will better the state.

The last LA governor to do that, or at least get policies he touted would better the state, had his brains scattered inside the capital building.

And the smartest leave the state for other opportunities (and take their kids with them). Those left continue the status quo, so the floodgates out of the state never stop. It’s a slow, downward spiral.

It’s sad to see

Excellent summary. Go to the polls and hold your nose, and I did. Very sad day.

I did my part. I supported the system, voted. Same shite kept happening. Why?

Political Parties. George Washington knew they would be problem, he warned us. The problem is: you cannot ban them or eliminate them, they will always manifest under a new name, they always have.

The best defenses against them is: judgement, wisdom, maturity, intellectual honesty. Not on the part of the politicians ( there's no hope for them, they're just abiding their nature ); these are the tools and attributes required of the electorate to keep a Democracy healthy.
