No traffic, very little crime, and I can piss outside when I want to.

Because I hate people and traffic.

I also hate a certain socioeconomic group that if i was more specific about would get me banned.

The smallest town/city I’ve ever lived in was BR. Honestly, I don’t think small town life would have ever worked for me. The idea of everyone knowing everyone else’s business isn’t appealing at all.

I can understand why people would like it though.

Because there are no homeless people stopping in the middle of no where to pan handle. Plus only the peasants live in the city, bosses take the private airplane/helicopter to the country house.

Well that’s just not true.

I have bars, restaurants, shops, grocery stores, and breweries all within walking distance of my house. And if I don’t feel like driving or have been drinking, I can take the subway or grab a Lyft within a couple minutes.

I can get to the airport in 15 minutes and take direct flights to most major domestic cities as well as international flights.

Well I was born in a small town
And I live in a small town
Probably die in a small town
Oh, those small communities

All my friends are so small town
My parents live in the same small town
My job is so small town
Provides little opportunity

Each to their own. I like visiting NYC every once in a while, but I couldn't stand to live there. An afternoon walking from Battery Park to Central will expose more people to my eyes than live in some states, and my sightlines are dominated by towering structures. Something about that just gives me the creeps.

No traffic, much less crime and the older I get I find the things that I like about the big cities I can still get enough of in small doses on quick trips, and the best experiences for me are spending time with friend and family and I have plenty of both in the small town I grew up in. I hope to retire there.

Meh. If you are speaking of the average small town in La and Ms, there are a shite ton of trash and stupids in most of the small towns.

It’s pretty cool living in a place where everyone knows your name and you know theirs. Living in a big city is fun and exciting when you’re a young buck just trying to make more money and get laid, but small town life, surrounded by your extended family and childhood friends (who are now having kids of their own) is an unbeatable environment to raise a family in.

Kids growing walking to their aunts or grabdpaws house, bonfires in the backyard with your friends you’ve known since kindergarten, high school football games, etc. it’s really not a bad life.
