Because weather in Louisiana is garbage and it’s hot as balls outside for most of football season

It’s all apart of our nationwide pact to continue systematic oppression

This seems like an old person thread.

I personally love college football Saturdays. Only get a handful of good ones per year. Plenty of other days to do the shite OP mentioned.

Many pro and college athletes have made it clear that if you do not accept their warped worldview then they see you as the enemy. Some have made clear that white people are their enemy. Some have made it clear that they are not seeking equality or justice but they are seeking domination and revenge.

I’m not interested in supporting people that think like that.

It will be very hard to not watch football, but I’m going to give it a shot. Maybe use the time on something more constructive.

It’s entertainment. Competition has been around as long as man.

Why do we watch movies? Why do we listen to music? Watch TV?

It sucks what is happening right now, but I’m not going to erase all sports when they return.

Do not give college or professional sports another minute of your attention or time. We were not created to watch these circuses while being fed this cheap bread. We were made to bow at the altar of God, sing songs of glory, pray, and do acts of love, reconciliation, and justice for our world.

Well that is some overheated, pious proselytizing.

You are unhinged. Just when I thought this board was more sane than reddit and Twitter, I see this garbage has a mass of upvotes.

Time to turn off the internet completely I guess

I agree in large part with TulaneLSU.Football is one activity that has contributed to the downfall of our nation.Too many worship at the altar of the NFL.I have even been in church when services were cut short so as not to miss kickoff.
Also I just don’t see what the big excitement is,it’s pretty much the same thing over and over. They try to run the ball, most of the time they don’t get very far, sometimes they do.Make a pass, often they don’t catch it,lots of time they do.Over and over and over again.
As far as high school football,I didn’t play even though I would have liked to at the time.Thing was my family was poor,if I wanted money I had to work after school and weekends.I felt like a nerd compared to the athletes walking around with their letter jackets.50 years later,I don’t feel so bad.Bunch of us get together at a restaraunt periodically, the ex-football players have mostly all had knee surgeries or replacements, back surgeries, etc.I’ve had none of that.Financially,I ended up better than
a lot of them.I don’t feel like a nerd now.
