DIA is the best large airport in the country by far.

So I can sip my champagne and laugh at the poors as they parade them past us on their way to steerage.

The flight attendants said several times that anyone with a long connection or at their final destination should let people trying to make rushed connections get off first.

Was flying to Canton, OH for NFL HOF inductions. Connecting flight was in DC and and had an hour layover. We were stuck in a holding pattern for 45 minutes. Get on the ground and some slob in front of me was fumbling through his things while I was getting ready to do a sprint across the terminal. After hopping on a bus to take me out onto the apron, I made it with no time to spare.

Some people just do not have any etiquette when it comes to flying.

Some people stress about anything and traveling is a huge hassle for many. Getting "settled" is important to their peace of mind.

I don't want to be the lame arse holding everyone up from eating/getting to the hotel because I need to stand around in baggage claims for half an hour.

30 minutes? We did a family travel for Christmas. I think we waited at least 45 minutes at the baggage claim in Atlanta.

One thing I've never understood is why don't airlines assign overhead bin space to the seat below it?

Would be nice, but hard when you have some dude trying to bring his surfboard and guitar on.

I've been on the train there and felt like this:

A train comes every minute... there is no reason for people to ever freak out about getting on or off the plane train in Atlanta.

Its not Delta alone. Its just the Atlanta people that are employed. They are lazy as shite and when I've had missed connections or similar issues, they've been incompetent as can be.

I'm not saying its a bad airport as far as arriving to your gate and destination, etc. Its the environment in the airport that I find disgusting.

Airport employees are terrible everywhere.

When you are travelling a lot, all you really want is consistency and ATL is about as consistent as it gets with delays and what you can expect while there. I was stranded for 5.5 hours at MSY last week and would have given my left leg to be able to switch it with ATL (bars, restaurants etc). The only thing ATL is missing is a centurion lounge.

Bc there are less bins than seats and no way to equally divide them up without having a ton of waste.

Maybe because of worrying about overhead carry on space

Also if you put your shite in a bin that isn't over your seat row then you suck. I sit in the front of third class sometimes and people stop put their bags up then go to the back of the plane. Assholes.

Not saying you're wrong, but I've not experienced this except in the exit & bulkheads not having under seat storage. I flew about 25 segments per year for the past five years on domestic & int'l airlines. I've sat all over (except first class) in a 767, 777, A320, 737 to name a few. Which rows don't have overhead storage? Again, not disputing your remarks, I simply don't know.

There is definitely not enough room for every passenger on a full plane to put one carry-on bag in the overhead bins. Some bins have aircraft equipment in them, some bins don't fit carry-ons vertically and you have to turn them, some seats at very front and back don't have bins over them, etc.

yes, not all seats have bin space and some bins have crap in them.
I like to board early because I carry on all the time.

The worst is how everyone stands up right away when you get to the gate.

Followed by how everyone crowds the damn baggage claim.

This is my biggest pet peeve. Some airports do have a line you are supposed to stand behind, which is nice. Do people not have the ability to see their bag if they are more than a foot away?

I just flew Delta last Thursday and Friday, never in my life have I seen such a clusterfrick due to overhead bin storage. I stopped flying with a carry on for this very reason. I take my book on the flight and that's it.

Screw that. I can cram essentials and a change of clothes in my laptop bag and stuff it under the seat.
