This is just false logic. In this instance you wouldnt be "cancelled" for supporting Trump

What about this one?

quote:

A Michigan social studies teacher and baseball coach has claimed he was fired after tweeting “Trump is our president.”

Justin Kucera told the Washington Free Beacon that the Walled Lake school district in Commerce Township, Mich., dragged him into a closed-door meeting after he tweeted support of Trump reopening schools.

“I’m done being silent. @realDonaldTrump is our president,” Kucera tweeted on July 6. He also retweeted a post of Trump’s that read: “Schools must open in the fall!!!”

Kucera told the outlet that school officials gave him an ultimatum during the meeting.

"I was required to meet with [human resources], the superintendent, and my principal [on July 10],” Kucera said. “They initially took my statement on why I tweeted those tweets and they told me they would have a decision about my future employment in the upcoming days. When they completed the meeting, I was told I had the option to either be fired or resign."

Fox News could not immediately reach the school district or Principal Ali Hamka for comment.

Kucera told the Free Beacon that he apologized for the negative attention brought on by the tweet, but not for what was said.

"I know a lot of people are just rooting for Trump to fail, and I don't think that anybody should do that," Kucera said. "Agree with him or not, you should want the president to do well."

The outlet said it spoke to students and parents who described Kucera as apolitical and supportive of students.

Meanwhile, other teachers in the school district have expressed anti-Trump views without facing consequences, according to the outlet.

They didn’t use the word “doxxing” back then, but yep.

I'm sure you have some actual factual evidence of this, correct?

Progs find anything of dissent objectionable, and bitch incessantly. You people can't define racism, much less identify it.

remember when the religious right ram amok? That's exactly what's become of progressivism.

getting benched, turning down multiple job offers, and then suing your former employer isn't exactly being "cancelled"

I don't even think this is the one I was mentioning, it was the one posted above about the popular coach being fired.

Someone telling me they won’t use my windshield services is one thing, someone actively campaigning to destroy my company is another

Protesting is not "passive." The Montgomery Bus Boycotts were not just a bunch of individual black people deciding they werent going to use public transit. It was a collective and concerted effort to force an institution to change. The same way cancel culture operates. People on this board have way too much sympathy for others who promote racist and homophobic beliefs and not enough for actual victims of racism and homophobia. As I said before, no one can legally fire someone just for saying they support a presidential candidate. If and when that did happen there will immediately be legal reprecussions. However, espousing racist beliefs on the internet can come with consequences. Freedom of speech only keeps you out of jail. It does not protect you from public backlash.

You’re joking, right? Are you actually trying to say, with a straight face, that in the last hundred years or so, every single one of those groups (with the Chinese being the least snug fit) were blackballed/outed publicly if they got out of line?

Josh, don’t you believe that people can change and learn and grow?

That people can be rehabilitated and not have actions long ago, bad or not, ruin their life in the present?

You keep saying this, but can you even define these words in the current context of 2020? Can anyone on this board even define those two words in how they're being used currently? I would take a guess that the answer is a resounding no.

So I’ve spoken with multiple people who believe Kaep got what he deserved but believed Brees had his freedom abridged.

I feel like I was clear on that point already.

Kaep got a huge paycheck from Nike, had two offers from NFL franchises in the table, and received a lone tryout at the place of his choosing then decided to turn it into a circus.

So what did he get that he deserved? Seems like he came out just fine.

Just because you talk to a few people doesn't mean that most dont understand you have freedom of speech but may make people mad.

Neither of these two lost their jobs because of this.

It seems one side is trying to use tactics like this to get people to think only one way.

Oppose us and you will lose things.

I never imagined saying Donald Trump is President would cause someone to lose their job. Some places in this country is truly bizarro world.

Cancel culture isn't an effort to force institutional change. It's an effort to ruin an individual, economically, politically, and publicly.

Your attempt equate this with the civil rights movement is asinine.

No you don't.

Kappernick can't keep a job because he sucks at football so he transitioned into marketing and brand management. He has profited more off this movement than most and without it he'd be a forgotten never-was football player.
