re: Why do men still get conned into marriage when there are no benefits for men to marry?

I went into marriage with a whole lot more to lose than my hubby. I wanted to marry him a) ensure he was taken care of if anything happens to me and b) because building a life together if more fun when it’s truly OURS instead of mine. The tax benefits are nice as well and my insurance is way better than what he can get.

Let me see, I can either..
(a) get married, only be allowed to be with this one woman, and if we break up she gets half of my assets.
(b) see all of the women I want, and if I want her out of my life it only takes a phone call. And I get to keep my money.
Of course women want marriage because 99 percent of the time they marry up financially.
While I agree with this to a certain extent, this isn't often the case. A lot of guys don't realize that without the help of the wife, they wouldn't be where they are in their career, education, etc.
For example, in my situation, I make wayy more money than my wife, but that wasn't always the case. She's managed the finances and supported us while I was in law school to allow ourselves to be in the position we are in today. Spouses should be able to support each other to provide for each other not for solely for their individual selves. If you or your spouse is not in it for the both of you, then you have a decision to make whether you should even continue to be with that person. This is coming from a lowly divorce attorney, so take it for what it's worth.
So I'd argue men should marry women deserving of being married instead of the first chick to touch their penis.

Team work in life - life is not simple
Making one another better people
Building fruits of a family and all the value created for future generations of people from strong family foundation
Will stop here. My sense from your post is you should never get married. Not for you. Nor are the fruits for your descendants.
Good luck (to you and descendants).

Two main reasons: raising kids in a stable 2 parent household and the ability to build wealth with a 2 income household.
If you don’t plan on having kids then the OP makes way more sense.

You can do all that without signing a government contract that says she gets half of your assets when you break up
I guess a pre-nup is out of the question, then?

I don’t know any women of quality or virtue who would knowingly involve themselves with a man who lives like you aspire to.

Wow. I feel bad for you. Not sure what happened to make you so bitter but you need to get off the internet and reevaluate your life.

Google prenup if you are worried about this.

Pre or post nuptial agreement.

You can have the exact same relationship without bringing a government marriage contract into the relationship.
The “government” was just acknowledging societal standards. It was never the other way around.
Societal standards still count for something, unless you are just straight trash.

Two great reasons, but none of them are selfish. Kids and family are the only reasons.
If you look at it purely from a business perspective it makes no sense. You risk half of your assets and give up usually more than half of your non-working time. That's a shitty way to look at life though.

Just what the Liberals want. Bunch of fatherless children who can grow up living on the government and be further away from Jesus every generation.

Do you shout “I do not consent” and “I’m a sovereign citizen” through a rolled up window when the cops pull you over?

Helluva an attitude.
You should go far with the ladies.

Marriage is a sacrament and vow before God and the person you love. Life shouldn’t be about money or material possessions. None of that matters when you’re dead.
Some of y’all suck at being shitty, unloving people with your priorities in the wrong places.

I’ve said this before on here……
I love my wife and glad I got married but if something happened, I’m not doing it again

Well most men want their kids to be successful contributors to society. Statistics show this is more the case in married homes than not.
You must be a democrat.

If you are really concerned about this, just enter into a prenuptial agreement. Risk eliminated.
