re: Why do married couples swing?
Oh sure it is, just as much as deciding to sit down to take a piss instead of standing, same thing they call swinging which is disguised as good old fashioned cheating on your spouse.

Yeah. No, not like that at all. A restaurant isn’t humping your wife while you bang some other girl.

And my wife isn’t going to get insanely jealous of my trout almandine just because she’s having steak tartar.

You’re wondering why people want to have sex with different people? Monogamy is the real curiosity.

Pics of the wife might clear some of this up.

I was watching a documentary about Yellowstone the other day. The biggest moose takes a harem of 20-30 females, fights off other males and impregnates all of them.

On the one hand that sounds fun, but realistically I would have probably opened a vein years ago after having to put up with all of them for even a short period of time.

I know several, they enjoy the thrill of it. Having threesomes and orgies works for them.

They swing because they are in the early stages of divorce.

It really doesn’t make sense

It does make sense when you understand how we evolved. Human beings are polygamous by nature. If we weren’t, we would have been extinct a long time ago. In order to populate the Earth, men had to take many mates. Society and rules aren’t going to come along millions of years later and change men’s nature.

Monogamy didn’t come along until the agricultural era to establish property and paternity rights.

And the whole notion of marrying for romantic love and happily ever after? 20th Century phenomenon perpetuated by an egalitarian society and Hollywood in which one person is supposed to provide everything physically, emotionally and financially for a lifetime. Perhaps when life expectancy was into the 30s, now we’re living into our 80s. It’s unrealistic.

And we wonder why divorces rates are what they are, and 20 million other marriages are classified as ‘sexless’.

Google the Coolidge Effect for more info on the subject.

re: Why do married couples swing?
Because there are some couples out there who are both secure with themselves and trust their spouse enough to know that there can be “just sex” with others without any emotional involvement. I think we can all agree that when you know “its just sex” you can have no emotions involved.

re: Why do married couples swing?
because sex isnt love and love isnt sex

some people learn this fact early in life and are ok sharing outside lovers because ITS JUST SEX

it can also make the couple have better sex with each other after seeing what its like having sex with others

The puritans on here disagree. I agree 100%. Some people just aren't jealous and if the situation is something everyone is ok with, what's the issue?
