re: Why do fat people avoid cardio at the gym?

Soda is something I gave up a long time ago. I used to drink it all the time and that's probably one of the reasons I got up to the weight I did. I pretty much don't consume sugar in any form. I'm going on 52 and I can still wear the same size jeans I wore when I was 19. The waist got up to nearly a size 40 at my worst point. Sugar really is a major key to controlling weight.

Cardio is important element too.
I don’t think anyone is arguing that. I think people are more pushing back against the idea you need to do 60-90 minute cardio to lose weight.

Because it’s hard for them

Because running is stupid and really not necessary

Because running on the treadmill is harder work than lifting a few light weights, walking around the track for a little bit, and calling it a day.
Of course, they can tell people they're "working out" and it's not their fault they're fat.

Honesty who goes to the gym anymore. Once pandemic hit I made my own gym which has more than paid for itself since I know longer need a gym membership. Bought a treadmill for 700, a stationary bike for 400, a rowing machine for 300, and weights for 350.
Gym membership cancelled 3 years ago which was a savings of 2100. Now it’s all profit

Exactly. You gotta have resistance training of some sort.

Who goes to the gym and pays attention to other people’s workouts?
1) See what they do as it is probably what I should do too...specifically form and technique.
2) Not sure anything more fun than watch a fit women work in one of Gods greatest inventions...Yoga pants.

A lot of fat people in here mad at the OP
I get his premise. Lifting weights would help lose weight, sure, but it would take more time, discipline and correct form. That’s why people don’t stick with it.
Getting on a treadmill and correcting the diet however is easier and quicker.
*I lost 42 pounds that way and now have been lifting for two years adding muscle.

It’s way easier to lose weight lifting weights than it is with cardio.
Also, being calorie deficient is the fastest way

Spend that gym membership money on a grammar tutor.

We get it. You go to the gym everyday. Congrats on working on your own self esteem while putting other's down while working in theirs.
