Why do cigarette smokers get to take 10,000 breaks?

I don’t carry trays anymore but when I was a young baw it seemed like smokers spent 80% of their shift taking smoke breaks behind the restaurant.
Does anyone work or has ever worked in a job where the smokers are allowed to dick all the work off on the non-smoking employees?

I always felt that smokers are lazy losers so them taking breaks never surprised or upset me. You can't be angry at a sloth for being a sloth. It's who they are.
It's our job as better people to make up for their foolishness and laziness.

It is a two way street.
If let them smoke while they work, then they don’t have to go a mile away so you don’t have to smell their smoke.
Of course smoking while you work is safety dependent. Office yes, but I would hate to see a plant naw blow himself and the plant over a cigarette.

Back in college I got tired of it. So I bought cigarettes just to light and let them dwindle away so that I could take breaks when they did.

My manager at my old job would spend 45 minutes of every hour on smoke break. He even left meetings he was running to go smoke for a while.

I would be stressed out because I was running late for work some mornings. Then I would drive into the work parking lot and see all the smokers hanging outside screwing off. Always had a calming effect on me since I realized I wasn’t the only person not at my desk yet.

Working in a profession where you bill clients by the hour and using billable time in performance evaluations requires smokers to either cut down on breaks or work extra time to make up for them.

I have never seen this. Smoker or non smoker every company has useless workers that really don't do much. Some take 30-45 min bathroom breaks twice a day. I work with some that come in early but don't do a lick of work for an hour and a half.

Currently sit by a guy at work that takes roughly 15 smoke breaks a day. When he is at his desk he is looking at his phone or the internet. Manager doesn't say shite to him. shite burns my arse up

I worked in a fab yard for a little over 15 years. The dudes who smoked always fricked off. A few dudes would drag a cig while running a bead or cranking a come-a-long but most of them would stop and smoke a cig every 10 minutes. If a non smoker would stop to chew the fat, white hats would climb all over their arse.
