East Plano Islamic Center is a growing concern regardless of this, but I would guess or at least hope they are paying for everything including lost revenue (besides taxes passes must be purchased) and any additional cleaning and set up requirements both before and after. Park does advertise being able to rent it out privately

Besides the Center’s increasing numbers of able bodied males and covering all costs & lost revenue my concern would be that it is in June and on a Monday which is prime season for regular usage, and Mondays appear to be a regular day of operation for this place all year round (the last week of May seems to start every day being open all day but have not seen full summer schedule). I have seen some smaller water parks rented out, but that has usually been in before regular opening, right after it was closed for the season, or maybe on a day it’s normally closed for a place like this that can be open outside of the seasonal/summer temperature months. In the spring outside of spring break weeks this place seems to be closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays which would seemingly be the times they would rent out the entire place privately. I don’t know whether it marks off regular days like this in the summer for other groups and other religions to rent it out exclusively as well, but if they don’t thats a problem.

There’s no law of science that prevents you from swimming in clothes that go from your head down to your feet. No matter how uncomfortable it may be.

Have you seen films of what Western (including US) women wore on the beach before WW2, and especially before 1920 or so? It’s really not that different than what’s now called a burkini.

I think the theory behind these various identity politics catering days is that it causes Hispanics or blacks or whatever group is being catered to to be more likely to attend the park year round, even if it may lower revenue on that specific day due to nobody outside the identity group going to the park that day.


However, I don’t think that’s a particularly good business decision when it comes to Muslims. Muslims aren’t going to be willing to go to the park on anything except for the designated Muslim day, because the park won’t be modest enough on the other days. So I don’t really see how the park thinks it’ll raise their year round revenue.

Yep. And I see them in almost every town of any size I travel to in America:

Jefferson didn’t realize they were a problem until the Barbary wars (he got a Quran and read it). That was after our country was laid out in principle.

Yes, the founders generally supported immigration…. with an expectation of assimilation, selectivity, and national interest. And I’m fairly certain they never intended to have a half a million low IQ Somalis imported into the heart of America. To say otherwise is disingenuous AF.

And the “they intentionally mass-imported Chinese labor right after founding” argument is just timeline malpractice. That’s like blaming the Civil War on the guys at the Constitutional Convention.
