re: Why do Christians not get a SPECIAL Day at the Texas Waterpark?

Responding to you now with what I added.
If the Muslim day is truly “Muslim Only” and they are renting the space out, then they can do that since they are the ones renting the space. I don’t know why Christians would want to be at a Muslim waterpark day anyways.
Christian churches would never do that though because as you said, evangelicalism is important to most Christian churches. I don’t think it’s important for Muslims or at least not as pushed of a thing. Idk, I’m not Muslim obviously.
My whole point was that private groups rent these kind of spaces out for their group only events all the time. With a Christian church, our group has a wide net because we have an everyone is welcome mentality. Which can include believers and non-believers.
I don’t see this any differently other than they may be limiting the audience but if they are renting it out, then they can do that.
Replace “Muslims Only” with people employed by company ABC only and it is the same thing with out the same outcry because…well Muslim. I think anyone being intellectually honest can understand this whether you agree with it or not.

Curious if they're renting it privately based on the article.

The Muslim-only event in June is being organized and run by the East Plano Islamic Center.
Kentucky Kingdom (which received public incentives for expansion locally and tax rebates to offset costs) often has days where only certain populations can access the park (like schools renting out for field trips, local churches for Christian-specific days, etc).

The fact that there is a taxpayer Waterpark is not just as if not more worrisome?

Parks are quite often govt funded. IMO no group should be able to rent it for their sole use and certainly they should not be able to deny admission or use of the park based on race, religion etc

yeah maybe. i dont know. somethign feels different and wrong about a deliberately exclusionary event based on religion, especially a religion which is recognized for its beliefs and acknowledged intentions to set up entirely separate and exclusionary social and governmental systems even within the US. it's just different than a business or something like that in my mind.
so yeah, i guess if i am being intellectually honest, you're right...i dont trust large groups of Muslims in the US operating in an exclusionary manner.

So you want your tax money funding a waterpark....watersides, lazy rivers and shite like that? What a waste

I do not mind govt funds being used for parks. The type of park is fairly irrelevant.

The people of Grand Prairie, who voted for it, obviously did.
Do you live in Grand Prairie?

Is it really much different than taxpayer dollars funding popular tourist attractions, to promote tourism economies? Or building community playgrounds?

Is this like a wave pool and a slide or a Schlitterbahn?
Because I could see a wave pool and a half assed slide, but Schlitterbahn and Six Flags stuff is a waste of money

It is being rented, everyone calm down.
My kids Christian based group have rented out water park in The Colony, TX several times.

Thank you for sharing your concern. Actually, this couldn't be further from the truth. A local organization is doing a buyout of our facility on June 1. A number of organizations do thie throught the year. This private event it is not hosted or organized by the waterpark. Like other city-owned facilities, Epic Waters is available for rental by community members, businesses, youth organizations, schools, or faith-based organizations. These groups regularly book our venue for birthday parties, celebrations, youth events, corporate programming, and other activities, including full-park buyouts for large-scale private or ticketed events. As with all rentals, the hosting entity, not the waterpark, determines the event’s programming. Epic Waters is for Everyone

How are the women to stay covered if they're swimming in the water?
The US military figured out a long time ago you can swim with boots, fatigues, LBE (yep I am old), and an M16 (again refer to the old comment).

They can't go into the water not because their religion forbids it but rather all of their makeup would run. Nothing wrong with wearing makeup but they wear an inordinate amount of it every day.
Can’t be any worse than the tootsie rolls and unusually “warm” water areas on the regular days.
So you’re saying that the muslim women are ESPECIALLY ugly without tons of makeup?

Considering it was just our church there, yeah it actually was.
Most likely this is just some Muslim group that is renting the water park for the day. I guess I don’t see it any differently than when the church I grew up in would rent out these spaces for a day every summer.
One quick example of a watermark that offers church group rates in Texas and advertises as such
The big difference here is that that waterpark is owned by a public entity (the city of Grand Prairie) rather than a private corporation.
So we have a case of a public entity showing preference to a specific religious group.
I'd like to know if they have done the same for other religious groups.
