Most of the industrialized world has shorter wait times for all health care services than the United States. That number only reflects the # of people with the ability to PAY for health care. The high number of under and uninsured Americans, which does not exist anywhere else in the industrialized world, skews wait times in the US where it does not in the rest of the world...if one person never receives the health care they need because they do not have insurance the wait time in the US is infinite...we can only calculate wait times for those who eventually get care. More people on other industrialized nations have access to health care, per capita, than we do in the US. It also costs less in those nations because everyone is paying, not just the insured.
But I thought Obamacare was supposed to solve all this???

Deaths from pneumonia and influenza dropped bc they were 100% coded as Covid deaths.

Our food poisons us. Its a fact and one that is very difficult to get around since the healthy versions of everything is twice the cost.

obesity, better food
Obesity is correct, but better food is not correct. Our food supply is f'd and that is what is killing us.

Diet is the root cause. We’re the home of processed, salty, fatty fast food.

The microwave was the impetus that triggered ready to eat foods and obesity.
Eating on demand was not a thing prior.

Obesity
Also demographics. England is 90% English
America is many different backgrounds. Other cultures make different lifestyle choices. But black Americans have a longer lifespan than Africans do for example.
I bet white Americans alone are more similar to the English

Obesity plays a large role. But you can't criticize people for it. That's body shaming now. They are big and beautiful.

It seems like our superior healthcare and shorter wait times would make us live much longer than brits.
We do. The fatties and cultcha drag down the average.

You are so racist that you truly believe black Americans are the driving force behind our shorter life expectancies? That is not surprising but also mind blowing. We are fat and lazy, and some of those that need help the most simply can’t afford it so they don’t get medical treatment.

There are various “wait time” variables that are measured. Those I am referring to are not simply follow-up or routine physician appointments and follow ups. Those I am referring to are elective surgery like joint replacements that tend to affect one’s quality of life. I assure you, the uninsured and underinsured are being seen in ERs and ORs around the US. I see it every day. Those number are also likely to be recorded differently in countries where the ER isn’t used as a clinic vs. here where they tend to be used that way far too often.
Couple articles attached below that illustrate exactly what I’m saying if you care to take a gander:

And here’s an article outlining the public/private coverage partnerships that exist in various countries as opposed to the idea that “everyone just pays a share and gets the same care”:

You really think the US is the best place for healthy living or safe living, it is far down the list. The evidence is stacked and your question seems pretty out of touch.

I’ll just leave this here:

Obesity thanks the the food conglomerates and the FDA....and women driving men into early graves.

Spent two weeks in Germany back in May. Ate a LOT. Most of it was home cooked meals at homes of friends and family. Walked just about everywhere we went. Nervously got on the scale our first day back home, and I had lost 11 pounds during those two weeks.
