It’s not even the worst major city in Texas

I’ll take Dallas over a lot of places - Baltimore, Detroit, LA, DC, NYC, to name a few.

Dallas isn’t the worst city in Texas, much less the world.

Take Atlanta for example. It has plenty of problems, but there are still clear reasons why someone might choose to stay.
Like what exactly?

Every major city has its flaws, but usually there are redeeming qualities that balance them out. Take Atlanta for example. It has plenty of problems, but there are still clear reasons why someone might choose to stay. Dallas on the other hand feels like every issue is amplified with almost nothing positive to offset it. The traffic is a nightmare, the city is so unwalkable you practically need to Uber across the street, the city looks like a collection of 1980s strip malls, the weather is brutal, it is flat and bare with hardly any trees, the food scene is mid at best, and it is no longer even cheap to live there.
So genuinely, what is the appeal? For those of you who love Dallas, I would like to hear why, because from my perspective I just do not see it.
Sounds like the soulless suburbs. Dallas is awesome. Uptown, Knox Henderson/Victory Park/Park Cities, Downtown, Lakewood...all great areas. Every time I take someone from out of town out-and-about in Dallas, they love it.
Food scene is "mid at best"...? Laughable. There are so many awesome places to eat, you couldn't get to them all in a year.
All that said, I'm more of a Ft. Worth/Clearfork/Bowie House/Hotel Drover/Stockyards kinda guy. But Dallas certainly doesn't suck.

North Dallas is a nice place to reside. :)

In the world? You clearly know shite about the rest of the world if you actually think that. Dallas would look like paradise on Earth compared to those actually shitty cities

If you can afford to live in University Park (which I can’t) then it’s a great place and very walkable.

Why Dallas, Texas is the worst major city in the world
Detroit, Los Angeles, New Orleans, Philadelphia, Chicago, and Atlanta are all worse.

Dallas and Houston are by far the two worst major cities in the US. The entire world seems like a stretch though.

Dallas has some serious one sided beef with Houston. Houston doesn’t give two flying craps about Dallas, while Houston lives rent free in their heads. If your only pro is pointing fingers at another city then that should tell you something.
I also hear a lot of, but Ft. Worth is great. Bro, okay, but we are talking about Dallas.

Goes for about every major city in America because we refuse to take mass transit. Dallas is no exception.
Gee, I wonder why?

I walk and bike to many places. I can go 2 or 3 weeks without driving as I work from home.

Not where I live Lakewood/Lower Greenville, Not Bishop Arts/Kessler Park area, Not Uptown, Not the Design District

Yea, like the rest of the south but I'll take Dallas heat over Houston humidity. We can get cold in the winter but mostly its pretty mild. I am able to ride my bike outside year round.

Lots of trees where I live (But not like houston) and there are hilly areas especially south of the Trinity

I generally agree with you

True but tell me what Texas city hasn't gotten crazy expensive

For those of you who love Dallas,
I don't love Dallas but it ain't bad and has become a more interesting city than when I moved here in the 90's. There is a good live music scene both local bands (Used to see Charley Crockett at little bars playing for 10 people) and touring bands and there is good food here you just have to know about it. We can fly direct to most places in the world and We are a 3 hour drive from lots of good weekend destinations. 8 hour drive gets you to Mountains in Colorado, New Mexico, Big Bend.

Dallas has a job that compensates me really well. Other cities currently do not.

Maybe not the world but it’s definitely in the running for worst in the US

There are worse for sure.
Dallas like LA though is becoming more known for its burbs than for the city itself.
