It was destroyed from within by the mayor. frick anyplace stupid enough to elect Latoya. Or Sharon for that matter. Although Sharon is nearly as bad as the Destroya.

N.O.
Needs to hit absolute rock bottom.
Without that happening, it'll continue to exist in it's present form.

Short term pain to promote real changes which are necessary.

I'd like to see them get a handle on crime before I go back. Nothing there is so great that I would risk getting jumped or shot.

I’m not opposed of people going. But tourists need to know just how dangerous that city is. Tourists need to know that the mayor and DA do not care about their safety and will give a slap on the wrist to violent criminals. With that said, my wife and I have stopped our 2-3 per year weekend stays.

So you wouldn’t even go to City Park? A family could make a day out of doing all they have out there these days

There are random shootings on the interstate.

And I can just as easily see water and green space in south Mississippi.

I loved living uptown. So glad we left though pre Katrina. Now I might hit NOLA with a group of friends, but I’m not taking my family back until they make major changes in policing. That lax policing and the useless Soros DA are exacerbating an already terrible crime problem.

Because we, as a whole, are a lover and supporter of all peoples and we would never want other to go somewhere their life was in danger.

In short, because we care about you.

As someone who is in the city a good bit, you just need to know where to go. Mid-City and the Bywater both have some good areas. The area of Tchoupitoulas with the breweries is pretty good too. The tourist areas like the quarter unfortunately are terrible. Locals know where to go to have a good time and be in a safe area. Tourists do not. So, unless something changes quickly, that entire industry is in trouble.

This. It used to be a great place for weekend getaways….. short drive, lots to do etc…. But not anymore. As recently as 5 years ago it was great. It’s just terrible now.
