Why are LA state vehicle inspection stickers so terrible?

We buy 2 year stickers for the convenience, but my son’s has completely peeled off after 11 months and my wife’s is barely hanging on with 6 months still to go. Mine is actually stuck on well and we all go to the same station.
Do we really need inspection stickers anyway? Stations don’t want to do them and do they really keep unsafe vehicles off the road? Can’t we require proof of insurance for registration renewal and call it a day?

Shockingly because the state of Louisiana bought the cheapest they could find

Change the conjugation of the second word in your OP, remove the 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th words, and you have your answer.

And this is why I buy fake ones for $40 a pop

Mine disintegrated the first time I cleaned the inside of my windshield. Its barely stronger than a sticky square of TP

Look no further than the Governor. The people of this state love to suffer.

Because Louisiana is a shithole. They recently changed the law that you can now tape them back up when they start to peal, because the state was starting to lose too much money on people getting them replaced

Got mine in September and it’s been off for months.

In Alabama you just need to show insurance and re-register Once a year. There are no inspections. If it rolls you can drive it.

The look on the officers face a couple months ago when he actually pulled me over for not having an inspection sticker due to my tint was truly amazing
I said I’m completely ok with you doing your job and i know I’m supposed to have the sticker but i can’t get one because of my tint. I could get a fake one but i just really don’t care.
It’s a non moving so it doesn’t go on my license or against insurance so I’m good with it. It won’t make my insurance go up at all.
It’s south LA and my tint makes a huge difference driving around during the summer so that in itself is worth the ticket.
I’m fairly positive he had never had anyone say it’s cool to give them a ticket because they aren’t gonna remove the tint just to get an inspection sticker.

Mississippi did away with their imotor vehicle inspection program about 5 years ago and it has been wonderful. No increase in the amount of unsafe vehicles on the road.

I got mine 8 months ago and it still looks brand new. Maybe the stickers don't stick so well to trashy cars.

This must be a new thing, because I still have a 2015 inspection sticker on my Jeep. I moved before that one came up and the bitch is glued on.

Previous sticker curled up the size of a cigarette within 30 days, rode around like for 2 years. Guy with new sticker barely touched the old one and it fell off in his hand making both of us chuckle.

The contractor had a bad run of them late last year and the frickers fall right off.
Same thing happened several years ago with the little sticker on the back of the DL they used to give you when your license expired. Well I fly every week and you can’t get through TSA with an expired license. The renewal tag fell off and I called the DMV. They admitted they had a bad run of stickers but then told me I had to pay for a new one. I said frick it and made a fake one on my home printer. Stuck it on my license and it worked for three years until my DL came up for renewal. I figured, if caught, I would be OK. The license was valid, the little date sticker was just fake.
