I don't know, but I found out last weekend they love to go from the left lane cutting across traffic to an exit at the last second... Seen in a number of times in a 2 day period...

I drove for an oilfield supply company for a while and Houston was the scene of 90% of my close calls with idiot drivers. It's the demographics.

In Austin, you can just expect people to pull out right in front of you without a care in the world or watch them suddenly cross 3 lanes to make their exit but it's okay because they put on their blinker while they were doing it.

You probably are the type that decides to speed up to close the gap when you see the blinker come on. Then gets mad.

If the gap is there, then it’s open to get into.

I hate it when people can’t just flow into the gap once they put the signal on.

Nope.

Austin drivers are just clueless and forget there are people around them. They're not assholes, they're just retarded.

The amount of women I see in Austin doing their makeup while driving is unlike anywhere else.

Houston is the culmination of pretty much everything liberals hate about conservatives. Unchecked capitalism, middle class commuters, sprawling suburbs, heavy traffic because everyone is rushing somewhere to make money, little spent in public beautification projects, oil and gas industry, technical and business minds. The drivers are just a side effect of all of that.

You forgot little to no public transportation.

That's why you cant use your blinker in Houston......gives away your next move and they will definitely move up to cut you off. Sucks but true. I was a believer in signals until I started driving in Houston. Its like showing your hand when you play poker in that town.

How early do you go to work that the loop was moving?

Your first problem is driving in the single worst traffic spot of Houston. The western side of I-610 near Westheimer/Galleria/Post Oak area is the worst traffic I've ever driven in. It's stand still traffic 7 AM to 10 PM.

You kind of get used to it and it's just easier to say they are idiots and let them fly by. You have to be cautiously aggressive driving Houston. I use 610 and 45 in and around downtown daily and it's just crazy with how some people speed around. I personally just get over when I'm able to. I want to get to where I'm going, but I'm not in THAT much of a hurry.

i drive a lot for work in Houston visiting jobs and customers daily. Been that way for nearly 10 years now. Ive calfified to the jackasses on the road now.

225, $ 45 between beltway and 610 are the worst areas to drive in Houston for needless aggression. Along with any mildly confusing "which lane do i need to be in"

The shepard bend on 45 will never cease to confuse people.

Houston is absolute madness on the hwy, mad max thunderdome shite. Dogs flying out of truck beds, lawnmowers too, beat up trucks with drunk illegals, charger clowns, randos racing.

I know people from Los Angeles, Apelanta etc all admit Houston hwy is a life threatening experience

This happens in all large cities. You can be driving cross country in a leisurely manner and when you get to a city, someone can and will kill you if they don't like your driving.
