Had a big juicy filet mignon last night. You Catholics are missing out throwing away one day per week limiting yourselves

You don’t fast 24 hours on Friday’s?

I knocked out one of my Lenten traditions - Papa John's spinach Alfredo pizza on a friday. I have several meals that I hit up during lent on Fridays, McDonalds fish sandwich will always be on there even though fried fast food gets harder for me to eat as I get older. I cant handle those fish fry plates anymore either - my stomach turns it into lava and straight out the other end.

The walleye sandwich from Culver’s is pretty darn good.

Our Church did Tuna Fish Sandwiches (I love TFS) salads, and casseroles after the Way-of-the-Cross. We're new to the parish and this was a great time to make new friends. We had a delightful time.
God Bless our Pastor, he's really reaching out to newcomers.
People really want God and fellowship. No man is an island, eh?

Is lent a real sacrifice in South Louisiana? You have multiple seafood restaurants, churches offering Fried Fish plates, crawfish, etc..
I am sure lent in Iowa is much different

Sorry people, but eating fried fish, boiled crawfish, shrimp pasta, tuna steaks, etc. is not a sacrifice or penance.
^^
Not saying I'm better or whatever, but for example, yesterday I skipped breakfast, had a small smoothie for lunch and a PBJ for dinner. Woke up starving couldn't wait to cook breakfast

Precisely my point from an earlier post.
“ Sorry people, but eating fried fish, boiled crawfish, shrimp pasta, tuna steaks, etc. is not a sacrifice or penance.”
I’d rather teach my children to go out of their way & perform a good deed for someone once a day over making a “sacrifice” of eating delicious Cajun seafood.

Our HOA is sponsoring a fish fry today in the neighborhood.
Fish from stocking the retention ponds last year with proceeds going to the construction of a new neighborhood pickleball court.

That is a pretty good idea.

Most of the ones I’ve had from local churches are pretty decent however I got some last year once from St. George and I have to say it was terrible. Must have had an off night.

It’s my favorite except when I want grilled which St. Angela Merici ometimes has.
They do a good job there. Plus, it’s well-organized, with the two drive-thru lines, the ability to order ahead, and the convenience of paying with either cash or card. The ladies offering a selection of desserts is a nice bonus, as well.

They've gotten too expensive the past few years.
