I think it would be very interesting to know the whole story of Jesus. How much is true, how much is myth, etc. Not for a moment do I think he was anything more than a man, but it would be interesting to know the details of his life.
Think of this. He was a carpenter from a small town in a backwater of the Roman Empire over 2,000 years ago. It’s estimated other than when he was a toddler he never traveled more than 30 miles from where he was born and he only lived a little over 30 years. But he’s had a bigger impact on human history than anyone before or since. That in and of itself is miraculous.
Another thing to consider is His disciples. When the Romans came to arrest and later crucify Him, everyone one of them abandoned Him and fled. But then following that, what we know as the resurrection and 40 days happened. Did that really happen? Did the disciples make it up? Well consider this, those same disciples who had abandoned and fled from Jesus fanned out spreading his gospel across Asia, Africa, and Europe. They suffered terribly, they were imprisoned, they were beaten, they were tortured. Of the 11 disciples who were still alive (Judas having killed himself) 10 of them died horrible deaths for their work spreading the Gospel.
So what changed? What made these 11 men who fled from Jesus to just weeks after his crucifixion, to suddenly dedicate their lives to spreading his message? They didn’t have to do it. They could have gone back to the lives they had before. Jesus was dead after all, right? But they didn’t go back. Instead they dedicated their lives to this radical Jewish carpenter who’s been executed on the cross by the Romans. And what made these same men be so dedicated to this message they willingly died rather than stop spreading it?
What changed for these men from the time of the crucifixion of Christ when they all proved cowards to just weeks later when they all began spreading His message, knowing they’d suffer for doing so, even to the point of torture and death?

He has to be either a liar, a lunatic, or the messiah that was prophesied hundred of years before. There's really no other options and plenty of historical facts to support or disprove each of these.
The world’s completely full of liars, lunatics, religious zealots, and people who are honestly mistaken. It’s a hell of a lot more likely that the Jesus story includes embellishment than he was the genuine Son of God.
But we all live in the Bible Belt and most of you were taught to be Christian since the cradle and have developed a psychological dependence on it and will never change even though Jesus hasn’t returned for 2,000 years.

Einstein. Most phenomenal brain to ever exist. Imagine a eugenics program using his genes. His sperm should have been saved. There may never be another brain with as many neural links as his.

True, but there can only be one Messiah.

Im just saying do your due diligence and look into it. There are many separate writings over hundreds of years before during and after Christ that all add up.

How was Franklin huge in the Louisiana Purchase? Franklin died in 1790 and the purchase didn't go down until 1803? In between you have the French Revolution, the uprising in Haiti, and Spain giving Louisiana back to France. Seems like Franklin wouldn't have much influence at all.

Whoever it is, they should be played by Matthew McConaughey in the movie.
In truth, it is probably someone no one ever heard of who lived in some out of the way place during an obscure time period, but was himself fascinating.
Of those mentioned so far, the one who stands out to me is:

There can be countless people who claim to be a Messiah or to have experienced some sort of divine revelation. Millions of people believe Muhammad and Joseph Smith were prophets. You can’t all be right, but you can all be wrong.
The funny thing is that in nearly all cases people believe these things simply based on what religion is the most convenient to them. Religious adherence is generally as superficial as most people from Louisiana being Saints fans due to culture and proximity.

Well, I have been to where Jesus was supposedly born at the Church of the Nativity, was baptized at Al-Maghtas, was arrested and later ascended to Heaven (Mount of Olives), was crucified and entombed (Church of the Holy Sepulchre).
I have also been to the room touted as being the Last Supper Room at the Cenacle, even though that building doesn’t even date back 2,000 years. They still call it that as if it is. It’s misleading, even in 2022.
I sensed a lot of BS on my trip to the Holy Land. Those people don’t really know where these things happened, or even if they happened. And I don’t trust people in Israel enough to give me a fair cab price, much less tell me someone was a deity in the flesh. I can’t even imagine how frickin’ crazy people must have been in that area two millennia ago.
