This is the only answer, fascinating that currently the approval percentage is higher for Hitler (3-0) than Christ (17-3).

Doc Holliday.

Trained as a dentist
Gets TB
Decides to move to the West to drink and be a degenerate gambler and instead of dying of TB wants to go out in the glory of a gun battle.
Proceeds to get into nearly constant gun battles - wins every one
Pals around with Wyatt Earp, vigilante justice, fricks around at a little place called TOMBSTONE
Ends up dying of TB anyway in Glenwood Springs, Colorado at the ripe old age of 36

fricking baller

fascinating does not mean admirable or praiseworthy

Christ may indeed be the most fascinating person in history. But it's not automatic.

I think it would be very interesting to know the whole story of Jesus. How much is true, how much is myth, etc. Not for a moment do I think he was anything more than a man, but it would be interesting to know the details of his life.

I’ve been to the Holy Land and a lot of places where Jesus supposedly did this, that, and the other.

Non-standard answers:

Diogenes - half-naked homeless philosopher who dick slaps a curious Alexander the Great
Chin Shih - Chinese hooker who eventually becomes one of the biggest pirate lords in history
William Walker - tried to conquer Nicaragua and Mexico with a private army

There are tons of folks throughout history who didn't have much of an impact but are endlessly fascinating.
